About Me

Hmmm... A brief bit about me. I'm a 27 year old man living in my hometown, Atlanta, GA. Since I can remember I've been incredibly drawn to the music and people in the nightlife industry. I started my jaunt through the scene at Loretta's (now Traxx) when I was sixteen when a high school friend took me to my first rave. Been tearin' up the dance floor since. Through my early twenties I frequently Blu and even caught the last couple of years of the Backstreet era. Fascinated by the colorful people I met out, I decided to try out bartending, clueless of the career I was laying out before myself. I slung drinks at Blake's on the Park for about 2 1/2 years and helped out with the promotions a little. I had a brief stint at Metro before meeting Brad Williams, the owner of Red Chair and JUNGLE. I started bartending at JUNGLE in the smoking lounge and the rest is history. After a year and a half, I was promoted to General Manager. The position played a huge part in helping launch my graphic design career. I was in control of all the promotions for the club and began picking up new promoters as clients when they came to throw a party. I'm happy to say that the majority of circuit promoters here in Atlanta use my services on a regular basis. Ovah Productions, Sweetpillow Productions, 2getha Productions, and C2 Productions have all had work done by Red Cap Designs. Under my management, and with the help of a lot of friends, JUNGLE rose from the post-Backstreet ashes to become named by several local publications as the #1 Gay and Lesbian Club in Atlanta! I've been very blessed to be able to use my love for the nightlife, talent for design, and knack for social situations to create a living for myself. I recently left JUNGLE to focus on and expand upon my baby... now called RED CAP PRODUCTIONS, an all-in-one design studio/marketing firm/event coordination team. We've got lots planned in 2007-2008. So get ready! RED CAP PRODUCTIONS is about to take center stage!

My Interests

Who is Joe of the Jungle? Joe Ragsdale, one of the dying breed of Atlanta natives. Born and raised in the good ol' ATL of Paul James Ragsdale and Cynthia Denise Ragsdale. I graduated from Fayette County High School in Fayetteville, GA and now live in Midtown Atlanta. I spent a good majority of the past 8 years bartending at Rio Bravo in Morrow, Blake's on the Park in Atlanta, Metro in Atlanta, and of course JUNGLE in Atlanta. But I've taken on larger tasks lately...

As General Manager of JUNGLE, I spend the majority of time now living, eating, breathing JUNGLE. As you can imagine, I love every minute. I consider myself blessed to be doing something I love for a place I love, and most importantly, with people I love. From my staff of Atlanta's best to the swarms of awesome Junglites that visit the club each week to the great promoters, djs, and talent I have the opportunity to meet, they have all made me stronger and happier. One of the greatest rushes ever is to look out from the dj booth of the club on a Saturday and see all of those people having the times of their lives and knowing that you had a little something to do with all that. Make sure to pop in every now and then to find out what's going on at JUNGLE and other Atlanta hotspots.

But my first love, red cap designs. It's my baby. What use to be a hobby, just to pass time quickly grew to become something, for fear of sounding cocky, I'm pretty damn good at. I can remember now, lots of people that looked at my hours and hours in front of the computer screen anti-social and a waste of time. It's nice now be able to support myself doing something I love. I started my portfolio doing simple ad layouts for print. Now with years of experience under my belt, I've reached out into video graphics and production, 3D rendering, logo creation/restoration, flash and HTML web design and most recently, audio production and mixing. In fact, the new Madonna Rama 06 Megamix is the first video production with a Ragsdale Mix for the audio track. Without my creative outlet, I would probably go CRAZY.
