About Me

My name is Victor Stan I began official studies in visual art at the age of 11 in Timisoara, Romania, at the School of Plastic Arts, and continued in Canada at Cardinal Carted Academy for the Arts. I am currently attending the University of Guelph where I am majoring in Studio Art. I have exhibited works at various fundraisers, corporate galleries, café/venue and formal events. My paintings can be found in private collections in Canada, Germany and Romania. My influences are primarily a mixture of nature, modern science and culture; I see a great foundation in Art History as necessary in understanding art and its direction. My style changes as I change my opinions and knowledge of the world around me. I work primarily in Oil paint on various flat surfaces.I believe Fine Art has a place in modern culture, both to relieve and excite the human mind, pushing it one step further into knowledge and beauty.UntitledUntitledUntitled

My Interests

Visual Art, Music, Ecology.

I'd like to meet:

Visual Fine Artists, Critics, Musicians, Philosophers, Poets and people who are interested in the Arts & Life.

Music:

"With the return to simultaneity we enter the tribal and acoustic world once more. Globally." (1956) - Marshall McLuhan

Heroes:

"Jobs are finished; role-playing has taken over; the job is a passe entity. The job belonged to the specialist. The kids know that they no longer live in a specialist world; you cannot have a goal today. You cannot say, "I'm going to start here and I'm going to work for the next three years and I'm going to go all that distance." Every kid knows that within three years, everything will have changed including himself and the goal." (1971) - Marshall McLuhan
