Baun is the name of my project in which I sing, play the piano and write the music. Its the product of my 27 years of listening, playing and singing. In the house on Østerbro where I grew up I listened to a lot of Beatles, Steely Dan, Gino Vannelli and Billy Joel... Often I went to the piano and just started play and sing what I heard from records and what I learned from my teacher... Later I started to dig jazz singers like Chet Baker and Ella Fitzgerald and jazz pianoplayers like Herbie Hancock and Errol Garner.Spontanity and freshness is very important especially when I play live concerts. The combination of playing the piano and sing at the same time is somewhat my speciallity. I love all the possibilities I have to effect the vibe, rhytm and harmony in the music.This summer I graduated from The Rhytmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen after 5 years of studying. In spring 2006 I went to New York to create a network and study with the great pianoplayer and educater Kenny Werner. I played a few gigs and sang my songs on Cafe's and jamsessions around Manhattan. Im planning to go back in spring 2007.
