Philadelphians Against Santorum is a strategic and fun campaign to increase turnout to beat Santorum on Election Day, November 7, 2006.
Rick Santorum, one of President Bush's closest political allies, is bad for Philadelphia: he tried to privatize Social Security; he wants to ban abortion; he's working to deny civil rights to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people; he's one of the biggest supporters of the war in Iraq; he's against raising the minimum wage...and that's just for starters.
Rick Santorum's values are not Philadelphia's values.
In order to bear Rick Santorum, we need to turn out over 100,000 new and infrequent voters in the fall general election. In order to do this, we need to identify as many people who are already planning to vote against Santorum as possible. Thats why we are asking people to pledge their vote against Santorum.
We will also be asking people who pledge their vote against Santorum to volunteer to get out the vote in their neighborhood when the time comes.
