I am here for Friends

About Me

Me? I registered to check out Gwyneth Herberts site and was delighted that her songs were available for download! It helps with the wait for the new CD. Having registered Im enjoying checking out other peoples sites, especially finding musicians Ive never heard who sound interesting.I cant sing to save my life and I dont play any instruments, but I really appreciate the efforts of those who can. Im sometimes called a music snob, but if that means I appreciate real talent and not people who rely too heavily on synthesisers, computers or producers then so be it!I love going to live gigs, preferring the smaller more intimate venues these days. Ive generally had it with the stadium gigs, but Im happy to make an exception for the Stones @ the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff this year!Im also a big Real Ale enthusiast (without the beard and woolly jumper) and Im passionate about the traditional British Pub (yes I am a long standing CAMRA member). I like to take off in my Mini Convertible with my beautiful wife and hunt down country pubs for 2 pints of the guest ale and fine Bar Meal.Isnt life good (why don't they let you use apostrophes on here?)

My Interests

Music:

Tom Waits, Van Morrison, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zep, Diana Krall, Hendrix, Walter Trout, Gwyneth Herbert, Jamie Cullum & Jack Johnson would be the top 10 at this moment in time. But then I should have had White Stripes, Dave Mathews, Matchbox 20, Santana, BB King, Cream, The Jayhawks, the Stones, Maroon 5, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Muddy Waters - oh no that's 11, oh well....I should add Amy Winehouse and Cerys Matthews too...I love lots of music, depends on mood, mental state, weather, day of the week, what Bob Harris plays etc...

Movies:

Jean De Florette, Manon Des Sources, The Unbearable Lightness Of Being, Amelie, oh and as you might expect all the boy stuff headed by Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez!

Television:

Hustle, Desperate Housewives and I've loved all the 24 series! I also have all of Sex and the City on DVD (is that sad? I think my love of NY has influenced that). The Office was one of the only comedies that really worked for me and oddly Coupling did too. My wife has got me into Friends now!
