About Me

‘The Passenger’ are hitting the ground running! From recording their self titled EP to playing quality gigs and shows within 3 months of forming. Their wild and enthusiastic gigs portray their endearing love of Rock n' Roll and play it how its supposed to be. With songs like 'Losing Faith' and 'S.L.A.B' that are powerhouse riff driven tunes laced with melodic choruses to 'Awake', a soulful acoustic rock ballad with an awesome solo that will put a shiver down your spine, to 'My So Called Reality' a groove train locomotion beat machine that'll have you rockin'.You can't help but feel this music and the band who make it are going to make it.The Passenger are:- Jim Guitar/Vocals, Andrew Lead guitar/Vocals, Glyn Drums - Jason - BassCopies of our EP can be obtained at SPILLERS RECORDS 36 THE HAYES CARDIFF 029 20224905*UPDATE* ‘The Passenger’ have been together for a year now and have shaped themselves into a solid, hard working band with energetic and exciting stage presence and are developing a reputation as being a 1st class live act. The boys are continuing to work and gig hard, playing venues across Wales and England.Christmas gave the band a chance to take a well deserved break, having played over 75 gigs during 2006.GTFM asked ‘The Passenger’ in for a radio interview (May 2006) and followed this up by asking the boys to play four tracks in their live studio. 1). My So Called Reality 2). DOXA 3). Awake 4). Losing Faith. The boys took this opportunity to let the fans know a little more about themselves and the upcoming gigs. James: “Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!” A quality quote right at the end of the session. “We finished with ‘Losing Faith’ which was smoking!” “It was a really chilled atmosphere and in the end it felt like a real relaxed jam in our front room, but don’t get me wrong, we were tight.”In terms of gigs, band's keeping much of July free since we'r going to be away writing new material...already got lots of exciting stuff to finish off from the last trip !!August saw ‘The Passenger’ become signed to London based record company ‘A List’ with a double A side single deal and potential for more. The Pontardwe festival (August 2006) saw the band play an electrifying seven song set. Immediately after leaving the stage at the Pontardawe festival ‘The Passenger’ hooked up with AFAN FM and promoted themselves and their progress. Andrew: “Ranks up as one of the highlights of the year.”‘The Passenger’ returned to the studio in December to lay down their double A side single (My So Called Reality / Awake ) Andrew: “There was a lot of pressure on us to get this right in such a short time. I’m very happy with what we have accomplished.”If your local independent record store requires copies please e-mail the band and let us know.2007 has got off to an awesome start for the band. The boys have played kick ass gigs in Cardiff at Clwb Ifor Bach and Barfly and have headlined at the prestigious Fleece and Firkin in Bristol.Keep your eyes on our packed gig list and come see the show. Sounds Like: Big riffs, big choruses, guitar solos, quiet parts, loud parts, drum n bass solos, melodies, hooks, n all that jazz! These songs exist because our heroes hadn't written them yet! There are holes in our souls where these songs fit, and complete us.If we were to compare our sound to any bands you may be familiar with, then think of Foo Fighters, Manic Street Preachers, there's a definate Gn'R - Velvet Revolver flavour. Matt n' Jon (bass n drums) are huge Rush and Tool fans. They've been a rhytnm section together for 7 years, so they're tighter than a gnat's private parts! They also offer huge possibilites to the the sounds that The Passenger will be creating through their sheer ability alone. When you come and see us play, you will see them play an instrumental piece or two. Then you will know what I'm talking about.
