Lead singer.
It all started a long time ago, when i was 3 years old, i've recorded my first tape with some songs that my parents used to listen.
When i was 17, i had my first band, a project named KILLING AFFAIR (originals and covers).
The second one was a cover (or top 40, as it is named in some countries) band called SIX DIX. We played songs from Whitesnake to Rolling Stones, from AC/DC to the Beatles, and so on. It lasted for 3 years (with me as lead singer) and we were one of the best acts in town.
Nuggy was already a friend of mine for a long time ago. He was playing with a major artist here in Portugal, when an idea came up: Forming a band with rock'n'roll soul. We've played together for a few gigs, but the timing wasn't right for it. Due to personal problems, i had to quit for a while but this stuff is harder than me so i've returned.
I've recorded a few years ago, with the help of some friends ( RICARDO FERNANDES -guitar, vocals, programing, producer,...; IVAN D..ALMEIDA - guitar, vocals; NUGGY - bass), a demo with 7 tracks, all written by me, Ricardo and Ivan.
All i really need is a stage, so i raized with Nuno (guitar player), a band called 4 FUN. Didn't last too long. If i'm not happy with the way things are moving, i'm the first to find my way straight. Then i left.
2006 - A new band was born:
FILIPE, NUGGY, JC, and CARLOS are SOUL SPACE. That band with the rock'n'roll soul that i've told you about before.
This band has performed in the most important clubs over the years of 2006 and 2007 with major success.
Due to personal and professional maters, Soul Space are curently on hiatus.
MAI, 2008
A new challenge has begun.
Filipe Cascata is anounced as the new lead singer of the Whitesnake's portuguese tribute band named WINESNAKE. It's a chance to pay tribute to my main inspiration and mentor.
