Music - gigs - concerts - photography - my jeep Rupert! - my dogs Harvey and Ollie - animals in general - my family (so important to me) - travelling - Ibiza's Bora Bora beach - the countryside and country air (yes even the smell of cow dung!) - being by the sea - my friends - men! (when I can be bothered) - cooking (I'm a f*cking ace cook) - good restaurants - live music venues - cinema/theatre - pubs/bars....the usual stuff really!! Oh aye, and MySpace too (when it's working, grrr...).
George Best (alas it wasn't meant to be...), Marilyn Monroe (my ultimate heroine just cos she was beautiful and misunderstood), Emmeline Pankhurst, Emily Davison (a relative perhaps?) and the suffragettes (big up yourselves ladies, you did it for womankind!), David Beckham (so I can have a run at him - if Rebecca Toilet (sorry, Loos) can, so can I - hehe), his wife Posh so I can nick some of her clothes, the wonderful Freddie Mercury (RIP), the late great John Peel (what a leg end, he'll never be forgotten), Colin Murray (he's the biz), Scott Mills & Chappers (they make me piss myself laughing with their antics!), Jo Whiley (she's the dog's), Rolf Harris (another leg end for what he's done for defenceless animals), Alan Carr (he cracks me up!), Robbie Williams so I can give him a kick up the arse (you've made your money, stop whinging on man!) and my future ex-husband. Aside from 'celeb' types, I'd like to meet nice, genuine, sincere, chilled out, creative, not-up-their-own-arse people who are fun loving, like a good laugh (and make ME laugh) and don't take themselves too seriously...(well not unless you're a musician of course). People like myself really! Afterall, life is far too short! Oh yes, before I forget,
I absolutely love music, I don't think I could live without it. I'm basically a music slut!! I love all sorts of genre but I have a particularly soft spot for guitar music and as my fave instrument is the drums anything which highlights brilliant drumming! Brought up on the bass (Dad) so appreciate a good bass player too!I adore the mighty Red Hot Chili Peppers, the rockgods U2, Snow Patrol, Ash, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, The Strokes, Keane, The Zutons, Embrace, Razorlight, Oasis (old stuff), Greenday, Muse, Feeder, Arctic Monkeys, Travis (where have they gone to?), Boy Kill Boy, The Feeling, Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, The View, Arcade Fire, Biffy Clyro, Delays, James Blunt, Scissor Sisters (how fab is Ana Matronic?), KT Tunstall, Amy Winehouse, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Nelly Furtado, old Prince stuff, Guns & Roses (oh yeah!), The Boss (still kicking arse today!), Richard Ashcroft, Pussy Cat Dolls (dontcha wish your girlfriend was HOT like me, hehehe), Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Audio Bullys, Oliver Laing, Steve Lawlor, D Ramirez and good old dirty, funky housemasters, too many to name. Not forgetting all the old school stuff like Happy Mondays, Charlatans, Stone Roses etc. Oh yes, Kate Bush, Duran Duran, Blondie, Communards, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Blondie, Eurythmics, Tears for Fears, Joy Division, The Cult, The Cure, Big Country, Simple Minds and my favourite band back then Frankie Goes To Hollywood - the 80's were wonderful :) Love music for the soul too so Angie Brown & Beverley Knight are up there along with the oldies like Nancy Sinatra, Dusty Springfield, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Michael Jackson (when he was black and 'normal'). Thanks to Mum I have a special place in my heart for Elton John, Roxy Music, Bee Gees, Hall & Oates, Neil Diamond, Elvis Costello, Rod Stewart, David Bowie and Queen (I cried when Freddie Mercury died, he was a genius...) and due to Dad: Phil Lynott & Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, James Taylor, Carly Simon, The Doors, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Carpenters, ELO and Kenny Rodgers - I kid you not!! Also big style into dance/house music - great to swing the hips to! Gets me high as a kite an'all!! F*ck your drugs. Oops nearly forgot to mention Queen Madge too, she's crackin'! And Princess Kylie, what a show-pony - and a very brave one at that, bless her. So glad also that All Saints have got their act together and are back as a group, I fucking love them!! TAKE THAT oh my God!! *screeeeeeaaaaaam*But if I like the beat of a tune, I don't care who it is, I'll tap my foot, shake ma toosh and move my head with the best of them!!!Music is food for the soul and mind. And keeps this wee Belfast girlie a very happy camper. (Blimey, that was hard going, outta breath now!!)
Brokeback Mountain blew me away - fantastic! Beaches - waaaaah I fill up every time. Forrest Gump - brilliant! Goodfellas - I salute ya! One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is brilliant. Pretty Woman!! Top Gun! Anything with Robert de Nero in it. I gotta also include ET, Lady & The Tramp and Bambi - I'm a wee softie and love a good old boo-hoo at sad stories, true or otherwise! Oh yeah and City of God was fantastic too. Told you I was a diverse character... This girl cannot and will not be pigeon-holed.
Documentaries, Only Fools & Horses (yaaay!), Little Britain, South Park (soooo funny), Peter Kay, Top Gear (I love ickle Richard Hammond *swoon*), Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Corrie (class!) and the Music Channels.Top of the Pops (RIP), I for one will miss you.
The Good, The Bad and The Bubbly: George Best, Goodbye Dearest Holly: Kevin Wells, Angela's Ashes: Frank McCourt (f*cking excellent read), Scar Tissue: Anthony Kiedis, My Prodigal Son: Jacqueline Doherty...there are lots more but some fecker messed with my profile and deleted them all, grrrr...
My step-father is one in a million, what a fine example of a man...to take me on as a child after my Mum died, God knows where I would be today, or who I would have been, if he hadn't brought me up with the love, encouragement and support he still gives me today.
My English teacher who never gave up on me, even though I was an 'erratic' student (I had my reasons). She got me an A in my A Level, haha!!
Colin Murray: need I elaborate? Braaaaaaaaap!
My other hero I would have to say was the late great George Best, I don't care to remember him as a drinker, I like to remember the footballing genius he was, even Pele said he was the greatest footballer in his lifetime! That's some accolade eh? I am very lucky to have met his old man, Dickie, and to have visited George's grave. He's buried not too far from my Mum, which Mum would be pleased about coz she fancied him like mad!!
Our paramedics and fire fighters who regularly get abused, which DISGUSTS me. Wonderful people they are.
Oh, and Harvey and Ollie :) The best mutts in the world ♥
