About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorHi my name's Amba. I'm 26 years old and live in Southsea. I am a singer/songwriter/musician most evenings and weekends and a singing and dance teacher during the week! Anyway, I'm in 2 bands; Mr. Big Stuff and Tremain (formerly known as The Session). They're both doing really well and I love being part of them! 'Mr. Big Stuff' is a 9 piece funk & soul revival band, playing great tunes from the likes of James Brown and Aretha Franklin and 'TreMain' is an original 5 piece soul/chill/funk group and we play all our own material at gigs all over the place. Last year we were picked up by a fab producer in London and are busy working and recording with him.... So keeps your ears out!!! Band members are: James Philips on Bass, Dan Roth on Drums, Leonie Tremain on Lead vox, Andy Dixon on guitar and myself ..s and backing vox. You can check us out on - MySpace.com/tremainband, or www. tremain.biz. Let us know what you think?! So I'm a singing teacher at 2 local secondary schools.... BIG SHOUT OUT TO ALL AT COWPLAIN AND PARK COMMUNITY! YOU GUYS ARE A DREAM TO TEACH AND MAKE ME VERY PROUD. And I also teach dance (Urban dance, hip hop, jazz & contempory) at Southdowns College. YOU GUYS ARE FAB TOO! Now, I could go on forever but it'll be WAY too boring so I'll quit while I'm ahead. Enjoy reading about my interests etc and check out my band TreMain and our music videos!.... Happy listening!!!! Here's a few pics at gigs and practices recently with TreMain! Enjoy! And here's some snaps of all my friends, family, Band nights, trips and general madness!

My Interests

I LOVE MUSIC... my house is full of CD's, records, sheet music and my real love is my digital Piano.... My beautiful Technics! Its a big ass full size digital materpiece and gives out a great sound. I LOVE TO DANCE, teaching, going out to my local with family and friends! I LOVE GIGGING! (We actually flew to Italy to play at someones wedding and HAD A BLAST!) I love playing with my son, collecting all his school pictures and models he makes for me! I love eating out at fancy restaurants or just going for a chinese down the road.... Cinema, Chilling down the beach, DVD with a big fat Duvet and a cuppa, Drawing and Photography, Shopping... HELL YEAH, Shoes.... um.... Going out with the band, messing about and drinking too much... then drawing on eachothers faces... hahahaha Memories!!!!

I'd like to meet:

Hmmmmm..... very hard to think of 'Who I'd like to meet'. I have so many idols and inspirations its hard to think of them all! Here we go... I'd like to meet John Legend. I'm a big fan of his. John Mayer (I secretly have the hots for) Shhhhh! Simon Pegg... Legendary!!! Ricky Gervais... Cringingly Hillarious.... Chris Moyles... for a beer! James Morrison - I went and saw him a few months ago and my god that man is good! Stevie Wonder (Love him) infact Wonder Woman... get a few tips! Robert Lindsey (Really fancy that man) and Huey Lewis (God I fancy that man too) Oddly... I've ALWAYS wanted to meet Richard Branson. He's done so well throughout his life and I'd love to get some hints... (wouldn't we all!) And... I guess I'd like to meet the future love of my life. (Do they exist... lol) You gotta be strong to keep up with me!!! I set you the challenge!Heres the video to our track 'We were one'.....Messing about WITH KYLIE in the studio (in between recording our debut Album)This is my day job.... Love it!One of My all time favourite bands 'The Brand New Heavies' 2006 'Surrender' with Nicole Russo.

Ooooh I love alot of films... particularly Brit Flicks 'Shaun of the Dead' -best film, Hot Fuzz... say no more... Love Actually, Sexy Beast, Little Voice, The Commitments, About a boy, Bridget Jones!!!! But I can be so girly at times. Dirty Dancing, The Sound of Music (Childhood thing) but then I also have a darker side... Schindlers list, Saving Private Ryan, Seven, American Beauty... but nothing beats a good animation.... Monsters Inc has me in stitches, and Toy Story... Classic, Shrek, Hoodwinked! Some American-y stuff.... Books:

Not much that will particularly astound you... But at the moment I'm attempting 'I can make you thin' by Paul Mckenner (Dunno how he spells it) not sure its working yet..... I still have too many 'curves'!.... 'look into my eyes, not around the eyes, right into my eyes... and one two three you're back in the room!' Jane Campions 'The Piano'. What a beautifully dark book/film! Before that 'Teaching today' by Geoff Petty... intersting hey?

Heroes:

MY MUM, MY DAD AND MY WONDERFUL SISTERS. Everyday they make me proud! What amazing young women they are turning into. And my boy, who will one day be a man (with a beard and everything) He's gonna make me unbelievably proud I know it! Love you all xx
