About Me

What to write? There's all the usual - girl that's happiest close to the ocean and definitely not too far away from the mountains. Love the snow, and the sun. Living in Leeds, and a 100%Yorkshire girl born and bred.In the real world, I'm a teachersecondary, English. It's a great job that allows me to travel, have great holidays and work withkidswho are way less serious. For now it suits...gives me time and money to work on other stuff. The plan is eventually towrite...newspapers, books, brilliant stuff .I used to work in fashion, as a buyer, but thought there must be more to life than shops and frocks. I was right.I'm a bit of a traveller. Went to school in Australia for a while as a kid, worked in France and Switzerland, lived in America and moved back to Australia for while during/after uni. I'm a chronic sufferer of itchy feet...the need to travel, not the horrid fungal infection.I try to use my holidays to see as much of the world as possible...otherwise why else be a teacher? It's not like we do it for the kids... ;-) I love meeting new people, playing with the girls (although boys can be fun too) and pushing myself way outside of my comfort zone and seeing what happens.I write, I snowboard, I take pictures ofboys on bikesboys on bikes...Weirdly, and I'm aware that this is strange, I'm a little phobic of mushrooms. Replace 'phobic' with freakin' terrified. This ismy idea of hell .At the end of the day, you do what you believe is right, you trust your instincts and if it still goes wrong, well, you can't say you didn't try your hardest. And if it still goes wrong, thenvodkatends to fix anything.

My Interests

Travelling, eating out, drinking out, snowboarding, skiing, any beach activities, ditto for mountains. Reading, writing, photography, Vodka Tonics and Corona and Desperados. Bars, pubs, clubs all feature highly. Oh and music of course....

I'd like to meet:

anyone who can make me laugh with a good supply of politically incorrect jokes.anyone.and especially people who like brown rice and veg and earl grey tea and big socks and long baths with music and summer mornings and cycling to work (i'm going to get me a bike) and pretty shoes and lovely myspace comments with hearts...songs that make you cry and fresh laundry and peanut butter jelly sandwiches and voicemail messages that keep you warm and raw carrots dipped in houmous or marmite and hot cross buns and neck kisses and wine that makes you cry with laughter and eyes that shine...and big track pants with stretchy waists on sunday mornings and the smell of new books and the smell of old books and food babies and sunday roasts and ice cream and...laughing till you wee and lying on the grass and smelling the rain on warm tarmac and calls from your mum and lazy mornings drowning in bed and morning naughtiness and unexpected mail - old school and handwritten...Tickles your fancy? Then send me a message too. It's only polite and manners are free after all. Unless you're one of my students in which case, don't bother. Blocked and Denied. Sorry...harsh but fair I think. You should be working anyway, not wasting time on MySpace ;-)

Heroes:

Everyone is necessarily the hero of their own life story, right? But we can't all be heroes, in that true sense of the word, cos someone has to sit on the curb and clap as they go past...My own heroes? Anyone who takes a risk, works their balls off, gets what they want, and still manages to be kind, energetic and never lose their sense of humour. My dad.
