King Jacks are a band to believe in. Shunning here-today, gone-tomorrow musical fads and ignoring the boundaries of genres, they're focused on whats important about being in a band: writing great songs and playing them with the energy you only find in people who believe in what they're doing.
Instant vocal hooks, big riffs, jerky guitars and synths and a driving rhythm section are what this sound is about. If you haven't heard King Jacks yet, you've missed out. Join a growing following for what British guitar music needs: a great band with great songs.
In recent months, King Jacks have been surprised to find that their rehearsal studio - a dank railway arch in the deepest depths of Holloway - is fast becoming the favoured recording space for acclaimed grindie producer Statik, who recently laid down Babyshambles' cover of The Clash's Janey Jones in the very room where the boys rehearse. It wasn't long before King Jacks and Statik's paths crossed, and, loving their sound, Statik soon asked for a track from the band to consider for his forthcoming album. King Jacks loved what they came up with so much that they've chosen the song they wrote, "Nothing Lasts Forever" as their first single.
"Nothing Lasts Forever" is out on 8 October on Basic Records and is currently getting support from Nihal at Radio 1 and Steve Lamacq, Jen Brister and Chris Hawkins at Radio 6.
Can't wait to hear something by KJs on wax right now? You can hear King Jacks' drummer Phil playing on Lethal Bizzle's track "Selfridges Girl Not On Myspace" from his acclaimed new album album "Back To Biznizz". Did we tell you we're big in the game?!?
