About Me

Justin Donaldson is one to watch in the acting world. Not just for his model looks either. He began his study of performing arts at Anna Schers. Since 2001 Justin has been honing his talents in a variety of roles, both on stage and television.In August 2003 he got the lead role in the sold-out, fringe play Cold World which is about the psychological impact of gun culture in Britain. Alongside him Leah Critchlow from Channel 4s hit programme Sugar Rush played his girlfriend Amber. Cold World enjoyed its first sell-out run at the Hen and Chicken theatre in Islington. It later ran at the Oh! Art Theatre at Oxford House, Bethnal Green in December 2003. This also sold out.In 2005 Justin started the year on a high by appearing in a production of Julius Caesar, shown at the Barbican theatre. He shared the stage with double Academy award-winning Ralph Fiennes.Earlier in the same year Justin also featured on the hit television show Footballers Wives where he played a virile stripper.He also appeared in A Goats Tail, a film about the Ghanaian-British experience by Screen Nation award-winning director Julius Amedume. In 2006 Justin will be working with filmmakers Lawrence Coke and Afolabi Kuti on 2 separate new projects.Justin also starred in and produced the short film Aids is Real. The film was made for the Love 2 Work organization, a charity which promotes Aids awareness. The short film which highlights the Aids epidemic has been broadcast on the African-Caribbean cable channel Ben TV. It has also been shown in Africa, Europe and the US.In 2005 Justin was fortunate enough to work with well-known playwrights Courttia Newland and Ray Shell on a play called outdoors.In 2005 he hosted the 7th bfm International Film Festivals short film awards at the Prince Charles cinema, Leicester square. On 2nd July 2006 Justin will launch his new short film festival in line with London’s Rise Festival. The films will celebrate diversity in London and will be shown at Tricycle Theatre's Cinema in Kilburn.Justin has also starred in commercials for Huggies (2005) and an O2 commercial earlier this year. Towards the end of the year he appeared in a short film by Alan Colegrave called Reasons. It covers the topic of bullying and will be shown in film festivals in 2006.In 2006 Justin will star in London rapper Wan Cee's exciting new short film 'Rotten Apples'.The east Londoner has just completed his first feature film as a lead character, Fox in urban street thriller Breakin the Cycle. It is expected to be his breakthrough role and will be released in 2007.Breakin the Cycle covers the black-British gangster experience and has an all-star cast, including Bradley Macintosh (formerly of S Club 7), Big Brovas Randy and J-Roc, MC -Lethal B, and actress Danielle Brown (Emmerdale).Justin stars alongside Nolan Weekes from Angie Le Mar's hit play 'The Brothers'.Here's the trailer: .. width="425" height="350" ..In the meantime, Justin has written, directed, produced and will be starring in his own play 'Karma'. It will be shown at the Tricycle theatre, Kilburn in July 2006. Karma is a contemporary musical drama about ‘life on road’ seen through the eyes of street hustlers Cain and Demon.On his way up, Justin has been active in his community and set up his company Dramatic Intercourse. Through this he runs a workshop at the Tricycle theatre for actors, writers, singers and other talented people interested in participating in theatrical and film productions. Through the project he also mentors young people from 13 years old upwards.He is accompanied with award-winning director and industry veteran Leon Herbert famed for his feature film Emotional Backgammon.In 2006 Justin has been privately coached by Dee Cannon a main teacher at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). Dee Cannon has also coached such stars as Jon Voight and Matthew Modine.Justin has been recognized by the British Film Institute (BFI) in the new Black world section as under 30s to look out for in the future who are acting in the film industry.
