About Me

I have now had this Myspace for more than one and a half year, and I still haven't written anything "About Me".
I really find it difficult to describe myself this way, in a few lines supposed to sum me up just like that.
The hard facts are already listed other places on the profile, so are my interests, and I feel very little need to repeat it just for the sake of it. I mean, who reads this anyway?
I think I better use my spare creativity creating some new blogs instead. And maybe also redesign this profile... afterall, I have been planning that for a while now.

Yeah... have a splendid day!
Galileo, one of Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls' many masterpieces. The video must be THE best one Indigo Girls have ever made. I LOVE it! Enjoy!

Sometimes happiness comes in little square boxes toghether with round little pieces of pure eargasms.
This happiness, the ones we actually pay for, gives the artists what they need to keep making music and produce more of these little treasures that we love to line up in our cd-racks and be proud of.
(It is, by the way, these little treasures that can make even the messiest and most hopeless person act like Monica Geller when someone tries to mess with them... )
My point is:
BUY RECORDS if you wanna have the freakin' music!!!!!!
Don't just steal them over peer-to-peer networks, or never bother to support your favourite artists!!!
I can't say that I never download, but when I do, I do it to have a preview before I BUY THE RECORD!

My Interests

Music, music and music...

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

My main interest in life is my little son Brage and his wellbeing. Apart from that I enjoy spending my time listening to music, searching for and buying music, spending time in the stable and with/on the horses, spending time with my friends, travelling, going to festivals and concerts, and all in all just doing things that provokes a good laugh and makes a good time.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I am also one of a little bunch of people arranging the rock festival Midnattsrocken in Lakselv in July every year.

I'd like to meet:

YOU!

Yeps, that's the kind of warnings we Norwegians get along the roads.
(That would be 'Speed bumps', by the way. :D )

Sheryl Crow - Strong enough

..

Music:

Music to me is the essence of everything:
I hear music, I think music, I breathe music
I dream music, I quote music,
I refer to music when I speak,
and I deeply miss my favourite music when it has been too long since I have listened to it.

It is impossible to mention one specific genre of music that I keep as a favourite. I like almost any genre, and when I fall for a record/an artist/etc. there's gotta be more than just a good hook to catch my attention.
The lyric's gotta be good, the artist needs to have some kind of integrity, the singing voice(s) has got to have something that is worth paying attention to and most important of all; The music just have to have IT.
What "it" is, I do not know. But I know some music that has got IT, and here's a small selection of some of my all time favourites;

Unni Wilhelmsen

Anne Grete Preus

Vibeke Saugestad

Anneli Drecker

Karin Park

Sheryl Crow

Amy Ray

Elvira Nikolaisen

Joni Mitchell

Melissa Etheridge

Anouk

AC/DC

Thin Lizzy

Sarah McLachlan

Sass Jordan

Skin

Dio

Indigo Girls

Bette Midler

Rainbow

Beth Hart

The Rolling Stones

Bruce Springsteen

Stevie Nicks

Metallica

Fleetwood Mac

PJ Harvey

Tracy Chapman

Tracy Bonham

Jewel

Alannah Myles

Kiss

Chris Cornell

Movies:

The stupider, the better. :D

I enjoy a good comedy, I truly do. Mostly because I have a hard time taking many other kinds of films seriously enough to believe in the stories they're telling.
I have a few favourites, though; Thelma&Louise,
The Bridges of Madison County,
The Client,
The Long Kiss Goodnight,
Monster's Ball,
and A Perfect World.

Television:

I am no big fan of watching TV. I may watch some, but I usually pick something else to do when I have spare time. I am one of those people who try to hide the TV away in the livingroom, instead of setting it up like a huge alter. Yep, I am one of those who are more than happy with a small/medium sized TV set. I hate the idea of having a huge, ugly TV dominating my livingroom.

Books:

Yes, I LOVE books.
Like with my favourite music, I sincerely love my favourite books/literature and even some of the characters in some. They often cross my thoughts and mind, and every book that makes an impression on me, does it for life.

And poetry! I read a lot of
poetry, and my favourite Norwegain
poets are Herbjørg Wassmo, Inger Hagerup,
Arne Garborg, Arnulf Øverland
and Halldis Moren Vesaas.

Favourite international poets
and/or writing
in English are
Robert Priest, Maya Angelou
Shakespeare (of course!) Percy Bysshe
Shelley, Robert Burns and
Robert Frost.
(does having the name Robert make a man
write damn good poetry...?)
Here's a poem I found in
Robert Priest's blog.
I LOVE it. Such a brilliant way
of using words and expressions!

we're working on (the fuck)

we're working on

Heroes:

Women with guitars.
Angry women with guitars
Sad women with guitars
Hurt women with guitars
Happy women with and without guitars
One or two women with pianoes
Good old fashion heavy rock
Rock and Roll
Plain heavy rock/metal
hard bluesrock
some straight pop music...... I like so much!!!
My CD-collection looks like it belongs to someone with a schizophrenic desease... :D

I LOVE the sound of guitars. A real good bass doesn't make it any worse, either :-)

Still; there has to be that certain something in the music to make me like it in the first place. Some music is an instant crush, and some grows on me.
