In December 2005, Elvira was on the cover of trendsetting Norwegian magazines and referred to in the big newspapers as "the next star of 2006". In January, she did her first live performances at the music award show "Alarm" and at NRK1's talk show "Store Studio".At the same time, her first single "Love I Can't Defend" was sent to radio stations and was immediately put on heavy rotation on every major national and local radio. It spent 18 weeks on radio with peak at no. 3 and the "Love I Can't Defend" video went straight in top 5 on NRK2's video jukebox SMS program "Svisj", was playlisted by ZTV and was premiered on national TV2.Elvira Nikolaisen's debut album "Quiet Exit" was released in March by SonyBMG (Columbia) and peaked at no. 2 on the album chart, making "Quiet "Exit" the most successful local album in Norway so far in 2006. The the album was certified gold in AprilIn May the second single "Egypt Song" became No. 1 on the official Norwegian radio chart, 2 weeks after is was sent to radio. The video is one of the most requested at national tv.Elvira Nikolaisen has recently been performing at the two biggest TV talkshows in Norway with her new single "Egypt Song" and has completed her first sold out club tour. Elvira will be performing at all major festivals in Norway this summer. The album is produced by Knut Schreiner (Turbonegro and Euroboys).
