About Me

What about Joe? What is there to say about this fun, sensitive, loyal, sarcastic, Italian, young man (well young looking atleast). Always hard to talk about one self, let alone know what to say on one of these things. I guess its tough because I am not sure what I want to get out of myspace. This place has been refered to me by many of my friends, so I decided that it would be just easier if I signed up and make them happy by adding them to my friends list. And now I am slowly getting into it more and more. Its pretty hard to do a lot of updates because of my busy work life (working full time and running my own freelance design business). So here I am!
So about me,.. I am pretty laid back. I get along with people very easily. I am usually pretty quiet, not because I am shy but more observant. I can be shy though, especially with women who I tend to find attractive. Other than that, I try to have fun. Can't be all work and no play right? I like to hang out with my friends and I also like to hang out at home. I am definitly very spur of the momment when it comes to activites. Just call me up and give me a push and I will go! I hit the bars often,.. ok .. a lot. Atleast twice a week. Is that so bad? I like to mountain bike too. Something about flying down a hill at 40 mph and being close to the edge of a cliff.   I am very close to my family, which consists of a mom, dad, brother and sister, even though they are on the other coast. I live in San Jose CA, they live in Connecticut and Boston. I have extended family on both coasts and Italy. Pretty worldly of me huh??
As far as my professional career side of me, I am a graphic designer that does mostly web design work. I have taught at a college for a few years, do freelance design and am currently a head designer and webmaster for an online merchant. Need to do something to pay off those dam student loans I still have. You can see some of my freelance work on my website http://www.jcarrano.com.
So in a nut shell that is me. Hope you enjoyed this canoe ride through the raging rapids of my life and personallity. I hope my goofiness didn't scare you away, however I am sure if your still reading this line of my babbling you were either very interested or very bored. Such is life! See you online somewhere!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

   People usually

Music:

Bands I have seen in my time (in somewhat alphabetical order) more to come

Bad Brains, awsome hardore / reggae blend

Bane, one of the very few bands I saw on both the west and east coasts. Great mix of metal and hardcore from boston.

Bloodlet. Some dam fine metal out of South Florida. The drummer was insane. Shame I only saw them once.

Burn, wish I saw them in their prime

Candiria, I can't count how many times I have seen them. I remember this was the first band I brought my brother to.

Dissolve, from the mean streets of Poughkeepsie. Paul has such evil lyrics but is really soft spoken off stage. Nothing but good things about them.

Snoop Dogg, All I have to say is.... Fosizzle

Earth Crisis. Saw these guys at their peak

H2O. What a great stage presence

Hatebreed. I have seen these guys grown from small shows at VFW's (which I never got a chance to see) to what they are now. Very happy with Jamie's accomplishments.

Korn. I believe it was lollapalooza

Madball. Yet another band who I can't count how many times I have seen

Meshuggah. Out of Sweden, awsome awomse awsome!

Moby. Yes, I saw Moby. He didn't preform very well. It was the day after he got attacked in Boston a long while back. He did play an old punk song he wrote which was actually quite good.

Napalm Death. I saw them twice in a span of three days. Once in CT and the other in MA.

Neurosis. My god, these guys kicked my butt. Slow methodic metal

Obituary. Honestly, I didn't care for their live show. I like some of there songs. I found it funny how the singer growls when he talks to the audience like when he sings.

One King Down. People made fun of me liking these guys. Oh well. Useless fact: Saw them with Hatebreed and busted up my thumb. Coincidence? (will go to hell for that one)

Overcast. For you guys who like Shadows Fall, this was Brian's prior band from Boston. I loved these guys! Miss them emmensly.

Ozzy. I think you can't get your metal membership card without seeing him.

Rage Against the Machine. I believe it was one of their last shows

Sam Black Church. Yet another band I miss. Jet can freaking jump! He is very very very energetic on stage. He is in a new band called Jetfuel now.

Sepultura. Another band I miss. well, they still around but Max is not in the band no more ::sigh::

Slayer. The metal gods themselves.

Sick of it All. One great legandry hardcore band. Great live show too.

Soulfly. Max's band who, in my opinion, is better than current sepultura.

Stone Temple Piolets. Believe it or not, they are the first band I ever saw

Sum 41. The best part of thier whole set was when they busted out the old school metal gear and rocked out 80's style.. Waaaaaaa!

System of a Down. I am proud to say it was one of thier first ever shows after signing their first label contract.

Tool. Hands down, the best band I ever seen live.

Vision of Disorder. The craziest show I ever seen in a small club.
