My Interests

Life and how very strange it can be.

I'd like to meet:

The Great and the Good of this world and if not them the fascinatingly bad ones. People who are into music, film art, photography, not just into it but actually doing it, on that dirty dusty road to making it whatever "it" maybe. Travellers of the travelling kind, and travellers of the mind too. More of those seen below I guess

Music:

I shoot musicians and make them beautiful and I write about music too for Flux and other magazines, so I ain't gonna list my obsessions just go to Borders and read it in the printed word.

Movies:

I have been a total film obsessed freak, though I had a long break from film making and film watching, but still Lynch.....I love Lynch, hard to choose which is my favourite, but Lost Highway is probably it, Blue Velvet of course is the classic. Love Japanese horror/thrillers/weird art stuff like Ai no Corrida, Kurosawa, adore Wim Wenders, Cassevetes, Scorcese, Dario Argento, John Waters, Powell Pressburger films, Jan Svankmeijer, Noir and oddly enough musicals, well you can't beat Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and I do love a bit of pop corn munching trash now and again. Lars von Trier says a good film should be like a rock in your shoe, for me a good film makes your head feel like semi-molten melten being bent over a blacksmiths anvil, beats into back into shape, but you're never the same afterwards and makes me go off and make something strange and bizarre of my own.

Television:

I try and resist mostly, it's a bad day if I can remember what was on TV.

Books:

All time favourite book is The Tin Drum by Gunther Grass, even though he has now confessed to his Nazi past...gnagh! But he's still great damn him. After that, I worship Camus, adore H Murakami, Kundera, GG Marquez, occasionally snort a line of poetry here and there.

Heroes:
