I remember that time so well

The Lancaster Orchestra, is the musical alter ego of the Swedish singer/songwriter Carl Mathson. It all began in 2002, when Carl decided it was time to write some own songs instead of playing in the Frank Zappa inspired band he was in at the time. The songs that followed was the result of Carls thoughts and day-to-day routine. Much like a diary or the collected notes of his own imaginary shrink.
In 2005 came The Lancaster Orchestra’s debut album, â€With help from absent friendsâ€. And only a year after came the follow-up, â€Never cried once when I could haveâ€. Both of the albums got great reviews, in Sweden and abroad. Several great musicians has contributed to The Lancaster Orchestra through the last years. But still, the only original member is Carl Mathson.
Carl is right now writing the last songs on his next album, and he has already begun recording the pre-productions.
"Never cried once when I could have" was released on the 11th of October 2006.
â€Never cried once when I could have†is the second album from The Lancaster Orchestra aka Carl Mathson. Once again it’s 100 % focus on the excellent song writing and the sensitive yet expressive voice of Carl Mathson. But at the same time the band is allowed more space and musical freedom. The Orchestra this time is basically half of the players in the internationally renown Swedish band Logh with a few additions. And the fact that we have a really tight and experienced backing band makes a difference. The sound is relaxed and casual, but still with an edge. It sounds like it’s recorded live in the studio (which isn't too far away from the truth). The band is loud yet laid back and they create the perfect environment for Carl’s hauntingly beautiful and sometimes slightly depressing songs. Try for instance the opening track â€I wish we never metâ€, the country flavoured â€I remember that time so well†or the single track â€Save me from myselfâ€.
