About Me

Pet-Tacular is a fantastic rescue centre in Muir of Ord in the North of Scotland, we take in and re-home all kinds of small animals - we don't have facilites to rescue dogs and cats, although we have 2 resident cats and 3 resident dogs! We have all sorts of animals from rabbits and mice to quails and snails ... and a lot more besides!Pet-Tacular is also a small pet hotel - we look after people's pets when they go on holiday and that helps us raise money for the rescue animals ... visit our website www.pet-tacular.co.uk for more info!

My Interests

Looking after small beasties! And helping people who have small pets.

I'd like to meet:

People who love animals, people who have animals and people who want to re-home animals!!!

Music:

Anything from Samuel Barber to Hiatus and practically everything in between. While the rescued beasties usually get to listen to Classical they are treated to loud hard rock a few times a week ... just incase they are re-homed with teenagers or screaming kids!

Television:

River Cottage rules!!! If you eat meat, learn where it comes from and make sure it's ethically farmed!!!

Books:

All of Hugh Ferningly Whittingstalls cook books! And the complete guide to self sufficiency by John Seymour is amazing.

Heroes:

My landlord Jock and Alex for standing by me and helping make Pet-Tacular what it is, as well as everyone else who's helped over the years! Famous people - Hugh Ferningly Whittingstall and John Seymour rock!

My Blog

Animal Homes - you dont have to stick by the lable!

Hi everyone, just thought I'd write a wee blog about animal cages because of a rather unsettling occurrence that happened today. You see someone made a complaint about us to the SSPCA, now needless to...

We will turn animals away if homes aren’t found for existing rescues

Hi Guys, this credit crunch has caused us a huge problem ... no one's taking animals any more! Added to this we have about 3 times more animals coming in than a normal autumn (our busiest time of year...

Good news and bad

I've just picked Jasmine up and the lumps have been removed. She looks really ill, but I suppose that's to be expected. The vet managed to remove the 2 big tumours completely, however while she was op...

Jasmine is a special little rat! She's a Pet-Tacular pet who came in as a "rescue" when her owner moved to Glasgow (though to be honest as her owner was our flatmate my partner and I had fallen in lo...

That time already???

My postman came into the office about an hour ago in a bit of a flutter; "There's an SSPCA man looking at your chickens" So out I go and sure enough there's Dougie from the SSPCA, "Oh no!" I think, "I...

The woman who owns Pet-Tacular is nasty!

So just for the record I'd like to share a story - it's not overly proffessional and I know I should rise above it, but I was rather hurt on Saturday night! I was doing an Ann Summers party for a bunc...

A poem by my sister!

Was a warm summers night and the cat was alone. The house was all dark and no no one was home.He crept down the corridor, he slipped up the stairs,he roamed all the rooms and he coughed up his hairs.He...
