THIS IS NOT THE DRESS REHEARSAL!

About Me

I am a dork! I am a licensed massage therapist, Shiatsu practitioner, Reiki Master and mom of an amazing little angel. She is my inspiration! I love to be outdoors, I love to read, I love art... I LOVE the work I do... I really do. In June I go to Guatemala to visit a dear friend,to see the beginnings of Ninos Del Lago, and to just be in the jungle! I am excited to be involved with this wonderful organization that helps the at-risk children of Guatemala. Now is the beginning of a life of service. That is, I believe, why we were put on this planet...to be of service... That, and to dance around and laugh out loud... A LOT!found this flowers layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com

My Interests

I LOVE ARCHERY!!! It's my new thing; I can't get enough. I am an adrenaline junkie at heart. I skydive, ride on the back of fast motorcycles, dive off of cliffs... I love it all!I study alternative medicine and Eastern spiritual/philosophical traditions in my free time. I practice Qigong... and Kundalini Yoga. Its all about balance. I love hiking and just being outdoors. Anywhere with a lot of trees... I like trees. I will always love to dance. Dancing has always been my favorite way to just let loose. The music has to be right though, otherwise I won't budge. (I'm kind of a snob about that.) Anything Keith Schreiner is involved in (Dahlia, Auditory Sculpture, Suckapunch...) works for me.

I'd like to meet:

Those who inspire, and those who live to be inspired.

Music:

I love all sorts of music! I have a soft spot for electronic music (Trip-hop, drum and bass, breakbeats) but lots of other kinds as well... it just has to be good! Some of my faves are Radiohead, Damien Rice, Dahlia, Storm and the Balls, Matisyahu, Tori Amos, Auditory Sculpture, Fiscerspooner, The Crystal Method, David Gray, Joni Mitchell, Deepsky, BT, Dan Reed, the Gorillaz, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. (told you it would be eclectic!) What else... Bjork, Climber, Goldfrapp, dj Cheb i Sabbah, Bob Marley (duh!), anything Six Degrees Records puts out... the Beastie Boys, Ani DiFranco, Imogen Heap, Sting, Benjamin Rader, Led Zeppelin... I have even liked 1 or 2 country songs in my life!

Movies:

Gandhi, Sexy Beast (gotta love Ben Kingsley), Shakespeare in Love, Kundun, Princess Bride, movies with Adrienne Brody, K-Pax, Starman, Never Ending Story, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Albert Brooks movies, Patch Adams, As Good as it Gets, Young Frankenstien, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the original), Johnny Depp movies (the man is a genius), Blade Runner, Dark Crystal, Phenomenon, Star Wars (all of them)... this is a hard one, so many great movies out there!

Television:

Not so much into t.v., with the exceptions of Grey's Anatomy and Animal Planet with my daughter... and Friends with my neighbor, the Sopranos, Digging for the Truth... that Josh Bernstien is a hottie! (I do like those rugged zoologist/anthropologist guys on the t.v. documentaries!)

Books:

Wow, this one's even harder than the movie one! ... the Tibetan Book of the Dead; The Santeria Experience, Kabbalah for the Modern World, both by Migene Gonzalez-Wippler; Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss; Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, Essential Reiki by Diane Stien; anything by H.H. the 14th Dalai Llama, especially The Art of Happiness; Harry Potter books (J.K. Rowling); Daniel Quinn's books (Ishmael, The Story of B), Longing for Darkness: Tara and the Black Madonna, by China Galland; Homer's The Oddyssey; books on Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology, Quantum Physics; The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis; lots of non-fiction regarding Reiki, Traditional Chinese Medicine, different spiritual/mystical traditions... I told you I was a dork! Right now I'm reading A Long Way Gone by ishmael Beah... so far so good!

Heroes:

My little brother Joe... if you knew him you would know why. My daughter Kaya... so much loving-kindness in such a tiny little package! Dan Reed for all the demons he has overcome in the last year, and continues to... His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Llama, Mahatma Gandhi, Jane Goodall.*In your own special way, each and every one of you has reason to be my hero... we have SO much to learn from each other, and SO much to teach each other... may we all be guided by love...* :)
