About Me

Spin Radio NYC is an internet radio station. Format for the station is crossover, but more specifically, Spin Radio NYC features house, RNB/soul, club remixes and mash-ups, as well as soca, reggae and steel pan grooves (carnival music). SEASON 9 BEGAN DECEMBER 21, 2007 and runs through MARCH 20, 2008!Spin Radio NYC's four weekly shows are as follows:"The Rhythm And Soul Lounge" - RNB, soul, acid-jazz, hip-hop soul; interviews of artists & performances occasionally. This show takes place weekly at Crystal's Bar And Lounge. 6-8pm is the show itself with DJ Freedom spinning; 8-10pm will feature a live artist showcase. The schedule of performances and artists will be featured in a blog with the show name in it."Dance After Dark" - Deep house tracks & vocals, housed-up hits (remixed), electro and dance classics. This show follows "Rhythm & Soul Lounge" at Tavalon Tea Bar (yes, an old location is back again) every Tuesday night from 9-10pm. They are in our top friends...or go to Tavalon.com for the address."Caribbean Splash" - some weeks it's a focused show featuring the newest soca, reggae/dancehall and other times it is a live rendition of the show (CarniVibes Live!) which features a carnival style of mixing, audience interaction and even steel pan and live performances. This show takes place weekly in studio only...though this coming Friday we'll join the Soca Kings and feature "Soca On Demand" live...also, possibly the 2008 version of "Shadow" produced by BK's Finest...we'll see!!!"Party Anthems" - Heavy remix-oriented show features songs in an intense club style; both urban to house showcased. This show takes place live at various clubs; archives on the site for it are rare. This show will have permanent residence in Brooklyn at Crystal's, 1458 Flatbush Avenue, 3 blocks away from the Flatbush Junction every Friday night from 8-10pm; some weeks we'll be in Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans or Houston...check our blogs to be sure where!

UPDATE: SEPT 27, 2007I've been approached about doing internet television, and turned it down flat since the launch of this station. I am not in television, I always responded. Well (long sigh), I now think it might be a good idea to have one or two shows get a little visual boost. If I get a couple of savvy web heads who can add the content consistently, then you'll see some video footage added to the page. Stay tuned.
