About Me

Being cool and from "The Subs" (Suburbs) is a hard thing if it's not learned at an early age. When Jamar E. Seay also known as,"CHIEF HOLYFIRE" was four years old he moved with his family from Vallejo, Ca. to San Ramon, Ca. and would stay there until the age of 13 before moving to Danville, Ca. Playing sports like baseball and basketball helped Jamar to socialize and travel around the bay area in his youth. Growing up in the 80's was a thrilling era for him because of Michael Jackson's moonwalk, Punky Brewster's wild style, and the first famous black man with a mohawk Mr. T.
In 2000 Jamar would eventually finish his high school escapade of four different schools within four years. The last year playing on a critically acclaimed basketball team and earning a chance to play in the Sacramento Kings very own Arco Arena for the CIF playoffs of Northern California. Only in 2001 did Jamar start composing song lyrics from the spurring on of his older brother James E. Seay III. What would start as a hobby would grow into a career for this young ambitious songwriter & producer. His first hit single "World Domination" after only a week of release was voted 3 out of 1,260,000 hip hop songs on soundclick.com

In 2003 super-producer,"SCARIANO" was added to the lineup. Jamar and Scariano (Gabriel Lacayo) would meet each other at Guitar Center in Concord, Ca. and soon after record the hit song,"D.I. JOES" which featured Jonathan Smothers. Being a latin composer & producer with classical training since the age of five forced Scariano's skills to be noticed throughout the bay area and central valley. Scariano's musical ability and genre knowledge convinced Jamar and James to invite this undiscovered superstar onto their label.

Since then the chief has performed at any venue you could imagine (Fantasy Studios, Stanford University, Paramount's Great America, and San Jose Convention Center to name a few). From party's of celebrities such as the internationally respected author Terry McMillan to corners in front of coffee shops in East Oakland with a homeless man as his audience. In 2004 he was one of the few artist selected to be on BET in a commercial advertising a cash prize contest in the bay area. In April of 2007 he was featured in the Golden Gate [X]press for being a spiritual influence through music. Earlier that year he was selected to be apart of a moderated discussion with four other students and 70+ television producers from all over the nation hosted by PBS.
Just recently ONE LIFE RECORDS was honored to sponsor TSUBO Footwear and Function Drinks. Attending a remarkable school such as San Francisco State is an accomplishment Jamar would have never imagined happening to him. Would you guess that someone who graduated high school with a 2.1 gpa could receive a degree in TV & Video Production while obtaining a certificate in Music Business? That my friends is evidence of a God being out there.

After just a week hit single "World Domination" was ranked 3 out of 1,260,000 hip hop songs on soundclick.com
