Ravenglass /// Live Organic Breakbeats

About Me

Ravenglass - Fat breakbeats with 'heartfelt vocals'

File under: organic breakbeat, where Goldfrapp meets Prodigy. Perfect link between bands and DJ

Sexy, seductive, hot and unique...

Bands that play live breakbeat are scarce in the Netherlands and the rest of the world. Newcomer Ravenglass knows how to do it. Atmospheric songs are supported by fat breakbeats. Influences from chemical beats, eighties wave and electro are clearly present. On stage the musicians are making exuberant use of electronica, indispensable to the production of breakbeat music.

Because of the skills of real live musicians however, Ravenglass succeeds in melting all ingredients into an organic and very dancefloor orientated sound. Call it organic breakbeat or alternative dance For concert promoters Ravenglass forms the perfect link between live bands and DJ.

A striking element in all songs are Mariannes vocals. Her voice matches the tradition of wayward female vocalists like Goldfrapp and Roisin Murphy (Moloko). Marits grooving percussion skills complete the sound.

Producer
February 2006 Ravenglasss first demo CD Electric Storm has been released. This CD shows how these experienced musicians manage to produce a very mature sound in a only a few months time. For Ravenglass has only begun since January 2005. The band has recorded everything by themself, but production and mastering was done by Hans Budha Timmermans, producer for B2Music. Hans has toured in America and South Africa. His music can be heard in MTV Cribs.

USA
Electric Storm is doing well in the USA. DJ Deity from Tampa Florida will make a remix that will be released on Chronic Pain Records. On Garageband.com the song gets the highest score, very enthusiastic reviews, becomes Track of the Day en gets into the top of the dance charts. Sexy, seductive, hot and unique... the Americans love Mariannes voice.

Good promo CD, with an outstanding female vocalist, that sounds like Shirley Bassey and Basement Jaxx (Dave Toethuis, Sony/BMG)

Wow, I love your tracks. They gave me goose bumps, awesome! This will be a club banger!!! (DJ Deity, Tampa/Florida)

fresh sound and very sexy vocals that reminds you of Goldfrapp. I dont know if the band will make it this time. I think they have a big chance because these bands are scarce, their experienced sound and catchy tunes.' (VPRO 3voor12)
