About Me

The Black Sun is a graphic novel by H. Roe. It is a dark melding of various world mythologies and the Pop Culture Mythology of the American South, set in a noirish no mans land of insanity, depravity, old cars, death and rebirth. Characters- Leroy Morte- A restless man, driving across the American South at night in a black 1969 Cutlass. Plagued by hallucinations and memories that seem impossible, Leroy feels himself slowly going insane. He gives various pseudonyms, and rarely uses his real name. Lucretia-Although not specifically named as of chapter 2, the black 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible is known as Lucretia. She has a 455 cubic inch engine. The Twin- A man Leroy sees in his visions, who looks exactly like him. He suspects the man is his twin. Hunahpu and Xbalanque- The Hero Twins of the Popol Vuh. In mayan myth and legend, the twins conquer death. Andrew Ulysses- A hitch-hiker picked up by Leroy Morte in Dead Leaves. Marianne D'Notradam- A gas station attendant in Velvet Bones. Simon Laroche-A black pimp who runs the House of the Rising Sun whorehouse in New Orleans. Chapter 1, "Dead Leaves", as well as promotional merch such as t-shirts, posters, stickers, etc. can be purchased at our Cafepress store(cafepress.com/deadleavesswag). Chapter Two "Velvet Bones" is now available at (www.cafepress.com/velvetbones). Chapter 3, titled "Alabaster Flowers" is almost completed. Some merch for it is already up at www.cafepress.com/blacksunswag . The chapter is based around 3 traditional songs, "Wayfaring Stranger", "House of the Rising Sun", and "Stagger Lee". I'm in discussions with some musician friends right now about maybe recording versions of the songs to go with it. With some reworked lyrics and the musicianship Of Johnny Whisman, whose been playing this kind of stuff since he was 5, I think they could be awesome. It may be ready by next fall. Information about the artist can be found at our website www.ChromeSun.com.

My Interests

MYSELF. NOT MYSELF. Is there anything else?

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !

I'd like to meet:

There is a place called New Aw'leans Under that black sun. It's been the ruin of many a poor soul, and me, O Lawd, I'm one. If I had listened to what my Momma said, I'd wouldn't be here today. Being a gypsy by nature, let life on the road lead me astray. 'Cause I've lived my life on the road a bottle in my hand, made my way to New Aw'leans a dark and lonely man. My worst fear is the jailor; and paying for what I've done. And I know I'm a bastard, Lawd, and principals I've none. The only thing a rambler needs is a bottle and a gun. The only time he feels alive is when he's on the run. So fill your glasses boys, an' pass 'em around. the only sure thing in life is here and now. I've got my foot on the gas and my mind on the Crescent town. I'm going back to New Aw'leans to hunt the bastards down. Going back to New Aw'leans, my race is almost run. Going back to spend the rest of my days chasing the Rising Sun.
