The Group was formed in 2001 when a group of poets came together and formed Feel The Poetry,the name was chosen due to all of our unique styles and the way we were able to move people with our poetry. We went from performing in front of three people on Sunday nights at the Deli to Performing in front of thousands. The Concrete Generation is all the poets together. The name of our Band is Heavy Rotation because they rotate different musicians in each week to form a new sound each and every week and they are one of the hottest bands on the east coast. We have formed a unique bond between Poets,songwriters and musicians along with visual artist. We work directly with the YMCA,BIG BROTHERS AND SISTERS,TEEN WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT,THE AFRO CULTURAL CENTER,CENTER CITY PARTNERS,CROSSROADS CHARLOTTE and anyone else in Charlotte with interest in educating the kids. We perform at house parties and all that. We have a venue called THE WINE UP that we perfrom at every week with an open mic on Tuesday and a full show on Thursdays TOUCH ONE THURSDAYS. We are the only weekly poetry venue in the city and I am proud to say we have been going strong for almost three years at the same venue. I have held a poetry set each week in this city consitently for six years and its been done with the help of all the poets in Charlotte by us sticking together and not letting other promoters use us to make money. We are all in this together. TOUCH ONE AND THE CONCRETE GENERATION are by far some of the most talented poets in this country and we are on a mission to spread our poetry worldwide. Love is the key to our success, we extend hugs to all of our guest and to all we meet because you never know how you can touch someones life until you reach out to them. This is a movement and it just dont stop.
