pronoia records was set up in east london in 2003 to help bring through some of the music that has been tragically ignored over the past few years in favour of some of the pre-manufactured rubbish and vanity projects of the rich and famous.
pronoia started out releasing a couple of web-only singles from Devon based Rota (who soon became white lies) and exit52 before securing UK distribution for the release of red.star.line’s debut album and white lies ep.
the label then signed glorious country-noir six-piece viarosa, who have since released an ep, porous, and full debut album, where the killers run, to some great national and international press reviews. several notable festival appearances, opening for REM and a US record deal have since materialised. single releases for the tides, paul haigs solo venture the cathode ray and irish NME favorites beat poets have put the final bricks in the foundations to make pronoia a notable addition to the independent music scene.
now distributed throughout europe by cargo records and having full digital representation on over forty digital music sites, pronoia are opening 2008 with releases from the magnificent like a fox and the latest album from genius songsmith vinny peculiar.
