Hello friends. Welcome to my mysapce page. I am currently 26yrs old and a professional musician in Toronto Canada. I love Toronto and being a part of the music scene here. There is plethora of talent in this city and I have been fortunate enough to have played with many (not all) of the talented artists here in TO.I decided to play the sax at 9yrs old when my father (a big jazz and movie buff) took me to see the movie BIRD about the life and death of Charlie Parker (if you haven't seen this movie....see it). From the moment I saw that movie I knew playing the saxophone was my calling in life.I began studying classical saxophone at 10yrs old with the world renowned "ambassador of the saxophone" Paul Brodie. I give Paul much respect. He has travelled the world many times over, is the recipient of the Order Of Canada, and is a great teacher as far as i am concerned. At age 15 I discovered James Brown and Maceo Parker. This set me on a new path....I got really into funk and started teaching myself to improvise and lift tunes by ear. I took some lessons with well known Canadian jazz saxophonists Mike Murley and Phil Dwyer. At 17 I dropped out of school to pursue being a musician full time. I immersed myself in the music scene in Toronto, began playing with various bands, trying to hone my craft, and make a name for myself. It was at this time that I joined a band called GOD MADE ME FUNKY. We started out as an instrumental acid jazz/fusion cover band and morphed into the forefathers of the NU-Funk movement in Canada that we are today. Our new single "WON MORE TIME" can be heard all across the country on your local stations (so hurry up and request it!).
