What can I tell you about me? What would you like to know?
I was born in Edmonton, North London on 9th April 1971 and was kicking around on a piece of ground in my hometown, waiting for something or someone to show me the way for many years. I've had guitars ever since I was a baby chimpanzee, but didn't really start to learn until 1997, when I found the blues, found a girlfriend and started to write music and perform at blues and acoustic clubs in North London. Everything started to lose momentum in 2000. I had legal wrangles with the company I worked for (who no longer exist - I believe in karma), lost my girlfriend (we are still friends) and became disenchanted with London. I still can't see why people think London is so fantastic.
I escaped from London in December 2002 to the fine city of Norwich and I sat on my hands until the Summer of 2006, when I accepted an invite to a barbecue at Bakka Studios in Mattishall. Within a few months I had met lots of muso friends, recorded an album and was helping to run Go Acoustic .
I've helped a number of musicians get their music to a wider audience, including my good friend and guru, Phil Peacock.
I am a web technician by profession, but far more enjoy the challenge of doing web, design and predominantly promoting LIVE music projects in Norfolk and around the worldwide web under the wider umberella of my Play The Music Sonic Nation website and through running the monthly Acoustic Showcases at the Norwich Arts Centre.
MySpace has brought me multitudes of new friends across East Anglia and beyond, some as far flung as California. Everyone has been very supportive and I am now getting ready to get back into the saddle and write, record and perform once more, under the persona of Lefty and also work with other musicians. I am also now on SoundClick.

Lefty
Lefty is really just me, although I do have some amazing friends who are currently assisting me on some recordings. The current line up for these sessions is:-

Jason R. Burgess - Vocals, Electric Guitar, Variax Guitar, Hammond Organ
Heather Enid Wells - 5 String Fretless Bass, Electric Guitar, Backing Vocals
John Bartram - Electric Guitar, Backing Vocals
Carl Daniels - Acoustic Guitar
Daryl Blyth - Drums

I am Lefty because I am left handed and not because of my political beliefs. I am silly, I am daft, I am easygoing and I would dearly like other players of all standards to jam/write/perform with. So get in touch, I need to feed off other people!!

The Beatles - Love. Out Now on CD & DVD Audio

I have dabbled with Cakewalk Guitar Tracks V2 & Pro V3 for a number of years. It's great for demoing and honing your skills before performing or going into the recording studio.

I use Vox Amplification and Zoom Guitar FX

Influences: Paul McCartney, John Lennon, The Beatles, Squeeze, Chris Difford, Glenn Tilbrook, Phil Peacock, Puddles The Dog, Bad Taste Bears, The Hamsters, Rockastella, 4D Jones, Mike Gardner, Pink Floyd, Status Quo, Sheryl Crow and a myriad of other artists who reside in my CD collection and jostle for airplay on my various MP3 players.
Sounds Like: You tell me!It would be a honour for my own stuff to be likened to anybody else, but equally gratifying to discover that I have taken my influences to bring something unique to your ears.

At the Play The Music Acoustic Showcases we hope to give a stage to all kinds of acoustic music. You'd best come along and see what's on offer!
