She’s been encouraged by Chris Martin (Coldplay) to get out there and start performing and sharing her music. And that is exactly what Charlotte Eve is finally doing - and it promises to be big.A recent week spent with Ray Davies from the Kinks was the final catalyst she needed to throw herself fully into her music career.
Born in Norwich and growing up in Somerset, she has written over 300 songs
since she was eight. Now 27, she’s living back in Norwich and finally pursuing her true passion - writing and performing music.Charlotte Eve plays the piano and guitar and sings her own material that has been described as ’making the hairs stand up on the back of your neck’, ’ honest and moving’, ’ every song has a melody that sticks in your head after just one listening’, ’ a truly unique voice’.
"Charlotte Eve is an extraordinary young writer whose haunting love songs are about to dominate the world of music here in the UK. If you are a fan of Alanis Morrissette, Norah Jones, Katie Meluah or even Patti Smith.... You are going to love this artist!" (Ed Darragh, producer and composer)
"Her voice, slightly husky, slightly vibrato, and with a Marianne Faithfull-style world weariness REALLY makes you sit up. Didn’t Blow Your Mind and The House have spine-tingling hooks, and performances on such songs as "Oh God I’ve tried..." refrain is terrific. The vibe leans towards Regina Spektor and Tori Amos - that feeling of not just singing a song but living it. Charlotte Eve is a singer-songwriter of outstanding promise" EDP Event Magazine. (*****)
