1st FEMALE LATIN HIP-HOP ACT TO MAKE A COMEBACK.. New York City - February 27, 2007; CUBA best known as Nayobe is the artist who gave us such great dance hits as "Please Don't Go","Second Chance for Love" and "Its Too Late".Born Nayobe Catalina Gomez and raised in the Bronx was introduced to the world of entertainment via an appearance of the production "The Wiz" understudying for no other than Lena Horne. This hot Latina was discovered at the tender age of 14 at a local Bronx skating rink, entered a singing contest nabbing the grand prize; a recording contract making Nayobe arguably the first Latin freestyle artist. "Please Don't Go" her first single was an underground hit in NYC opening the doors for many freestyle acts. The single slowly climbing as the most sold single beating out "We are the World" by Michael Jackson Nayobe's stardom quickly claimed the charts with mega club hits and landing cameo appearances in such films "Krush Grove" one of the first and by far the best music films around. Nayobe's co-stars were Run DMC, Shelia E, Bobby Brown and Blair Underwood of "Law and Order", "Sex and City" and the hit film "Gattaca" In 1997, Nayobe's voice was used for Salma Hayek's on screen musical debut performance in the film 54. The follow up to her first two hit singles was "Good Things Come to Those Who Wait" equally as successful establishing Nayobe as one of the innovators of the Latin hip-hop and freestyle movements. In the early 90's Nayobe signed with Epic records to record "Its Too Late"part of the soundtrack to the film "Twins" starting Arnold Schwartzenegger and Danny DeVito. Having hits after hits "I love the Way you Love Me" and "ll Be Around", this success found Nayobe in Japan touring the far east as one of the first Latin hip-hop/freestyle acts to promote her music there. Having worked with such hit producers as Teddy Riley, David Morales, McFadden & Whitehead, Humberto Gattica to Tony Moran and working besides such great performers as India, Fat Joe and the mega star Marc Anthony. Nayobe's fans won't be disappointed, she is currently in the studio recording with some of today's hottest Latin producers.
