Mini Bio:
Alexis, a Brooklyn born (1985) first generation American of Colombian heritage, was raised in the low-income neighborhood of Woodside, Queens where the key to success is hard work and education. At the age of fourteen, Alexis started working as an Empanada food seller and sticking with family ties, he is currently (2008) the Coco Bongo Night Club & Productions’ Financial Administrator. As the first college graduate of his family, Alexis accomplished a B.A. degree in Business Management and Administration with hopes to one day to earn a PhD in Industrial Psychology. Striving towards life’s accomplishments, Alexis found personal growth and passion as an activist for his GLBT community. Coming out at the age of eighteen, Alexis participated as an Events Coordinator to his university’s City College Rainbow Alliance (CCRA). In the next following year, Alexis acquired the CCRA to build a more inclusive organization; he co-founded and served as President for four semesters in the CCNY Straight And Gay Alliance (SAGA). “As a 23 year old, I find myself wanting to combine my education, work experience, and passion to become a flourishing GLBT Philanthropist and in result, LXS Productions was born.†Alexis, in partnership with Diego and Wilfredo, continue to build LXS Productions for hopefully in the future, this philanthropic business organization becomes a great contributor to the GLBT community.
