Quotes
"Other than telling us how to live, think, marry, pray, vote, invest, educate our children and, now, die, I think the Republicans have done a fine job of getting government out of our personal lives."-?
"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."-Benjamin Franklin
"Alcohol, the cause and solution to all of life's problems."-Homer Simpson
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." -- Stephen Roberts
"We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart." -H. L. Mencken
"Men never commit evil so fully and joyfuly as when they do it for religious convictions" -Blaise Pascal (1623-1662)
"I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires."-Susan B Anthony
"Question with boldness even the existence of God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear."-Thomas Jefferson
"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."-Albert Einstein
"To surrender to ignorance and call it God has always been premature, and it remains premature today."-Issac Asimov
"Hope Is The Thing With Feathers" by Emily Dickinson
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chilliest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity
It asked a crumb of me."
If you are so inclined, you can send me prezzies here .

My Interests

Movies, Beer, night swimming, psychology, deep thinking, the first cool day of fall, the first warm day of spring, getting a professional massage, the first taste of peanut butter after I have denied it to myself for awhile, seeing proof that love really exists, a really great bowl of sesame chicken, having epiphanies, the chills you get when a moment in a song or a shot in a film strikes you as amazingly beautiful, smells that trigger old memories, a really good shower that is hot as hell, giving my creative friends ideas to help them with their work and it actually helps, talking geek stuff with buds, those moments when you briefly come out of your regular point of view and see everything as if from above knowing what a tiny meaningless moment this is in the scope of the universe and that you don't find that depressing at all, genuine smiles, when you tell a joke and it just floors the room

I'd like to meet:

Intelligent people who can talk film, literature, art, philosophy, and pop culture (but especially film) who can watch movies with me all day, but will drag my ass out to various outdoorsy or cultural stuff.
