About Me

This page is dedicated to my (mainly ambient) collaborations.
For my solo work, check out myspace.com/musicofaleah .
I have previously lent my voice in guest collaborations with Binah (Simon Posford from Shpongle and George Barker), Krister Linder, Omnimotion, Xerxes, Moment 22 etc but until now, never recorded an album of my own.
A solo-project is now in the working, and a Demo page for this music is can be found here .
Now "Being" and "Days of Silence are available for purchase on Itunes, from Omnimotions new release "Dream Wide Awake" .
My voice is featured on three songs. Being, Days of Silence and Elves of Athoria.
Your Breath is the Air, translucent living Light
Your Will is the Fire that guides our way at night
Your Blood is the Water, the ebb and flow of tides
and Your Body is the Earth, roots of the Divine
Every Heart is Your Shrine
Mystic Marriage of Earth and Sky
Will and Surrender, Above and Below
In perfect Balance shall bloom Your Rose

My solo project , (in process): All Songs, Melodies and Lyrics by Aleah.

Influences: My main influence has always been my innermost contact with Life itself. But where other artists are concerned, I am inspired by all female vocalists that go their own way and express their unique facet of the Whole. My gratitude especially goes out to Lisa Gerrard, Elizabeth Fraser, Björk and Loreena McKennitt, All Goddesses in your own right, though expressing beautifully different Elements! Thank you for reminding me that it is ok not to follow the trodden path...

Sounds Like: Dreamy, soothing, watery and slightly otherworldy.
A drop or so each of (though not much like any of): Mazzy Star, Lisa Gerrard, Elizabeth Fraser, Slowdive, Portishead, Sigur Ros, Dead can Dance, Loreena McKennitt, Delerium, Aine Minogue, Spiritualized, Radiohead, Cocteau Twins, Enya, Morcheeba, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Deva Premal (and Arwen of the Elves ;-)

But "sounds like" does not mean this is necessarily all I like to listen to!
This varies hugely depending on the phase I am in, but all that MOVES me and reaches under my skin...

Most Special albums:
Within the Realm of a Dying Sun - Dead can Dance (There are no words...)
Disintegration - The Cure (One of the best albums ever made!)
The Great Cold Distance - Katatonia (I could listen (and have done) to this album alone for weeks on end.)
First and Last and Always - The Sisters of Mercy (Yes, still!!! Ouch, bites me, can't sit still...)

Most Special voices:
Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle) - Wow, makes me want to fly.
Jonas Renkse (Katatonia) - Opens my heart and makes me cry.
Krister Linder (Enter the Hunt) - Like being Purged by Fire.
Jeff Buckley - Grace, indeed, how else to describe...

Lisa Gerrard (Dead can Dance) - Goddess!!
Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins) - I call her "Liz Le Fay..."

Unbeatable for mellow moods:
Sigur Ros, Slowdive, Mazzy Star (first album), Solar Fields, The Cure (Any mood!)...

Through Music we Reveal our Soul. Gratitude to all who Dare to Share!

Record Label: Flying Rhino, Twisted, Aleph Zero, Electrik Dream
Type of Label: Indie
