About Me

....for four young musicians attending a performing arts high school, a journey would be set for them when a music teacher entered a phantom band into a local high-school band competetion. With two weeks until the gig, and no band to show, the teacher hand-picked three promising year 10 students and another from year 11, and told them that they had to write two songs and come up with a name for their act; Cadence took out the band-comp and exploded onto the scene... there was chemistry, and there was something new and fresh about the sound and set apart from the stereotypes common to high-school bands. Since then the band strived hard and managed to take out the 1233 ABC Newcastle Music Award for Best Young Talent and make an impact up and down the east coast.
Since then, the remaining school years flew by, ushering in new career choices for members of the band, which unfortunately led to the departure of bass player Daniel May. With no bass player and a compulsion to move on, several auditions were held over two months to find the perfect fit. They finally got that element straight from the very source which they came, Brett Adrien, a kid from the year below at school whose musical aura reflected shear potential and untapped creativity. A busy 2006 for the band meant reforming the band's style and working intensely on the band's live performance, allowing room for concept of having a proffesionally produced live show.
In 2007, with a change of pace and a change of chemistry (and with trademark issues of a name in particular) it was time for Cadence to evolve into something for more greater than it ever was. A new name was found, and Grandvue stepped up to the mark by heeding the popular demand of fans to take a slice of the band home with them; times called for the production of a CD. A lengthy period of time elapsed, along with endless hours of hard work and more money to know what to do with (except make a CD of course!), the result is a showcasing of a short 7 songs written by the band during each of its phases, which exemplifies the bands transitional changes through time and growth, which is to be released in early March 2008...
...of course though, you won't get everything you'll see and hear from Grandvue on just one cd alone, since recording commenced in February 2007, the band has adhered to personal habits and continued to develop its sound and style. A progressive wave of new, raw material which is powerful, melodic and mesmorising has attracted the ears and eyes of many; material that was too post-modern for the first recordings, Grandvue intend to write and produce more upon the release of their debut EP and work towards forward thinking for the furture...
