John Crawford was born in El Paso, Texas and raised in the small West Texas town of Sweetwater. His first theatre production was in kindergarten, and he has been on stage ever since. While in grade-school he would leave class to go watch rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and productions of local theatres. He participated throughtout high school in the Texas UIL theatre competitions, garnering several awards from best supporting actor to best actor.John attended the University of Dallas in Irving where he earned a degree in theatre, before beginning his acting career in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area. For the next several years John worked non stop in and around Dallas in numerous theatre productions. His credits include: Don Juan, from G. B. Shaw’s Don Juan in Hell; Berowne from Love’s Labor’s Lost; Antonio from The Tempest. John had the honor of playing the lead, Capt. Stanhope, in Journey’s End; and Jasper Ankle in the ensemble Gorey Stories, both winner’s of Dallas Leon Rabin Awards and Dallas Critic Forum Awards.Since moving to Los Angeles John has enjoyed roles including: Swan Dignitary in Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2, John the Street Dweller in Murder Inside of Me, Mike the Hitman in 5 minutes 5 chances, Drunken Sot in Enlightenment. He has had great success in theatre productions such as “Party of 13” as Judas, Tennessee Williams' Small Craft Warnings, Eugene O'Neils Desire Under the Elms as Eben, The Count De Varville in Camille, and Sir Winston Frothington III in Angus Oblongs Victorian Hotel.
