Band Members: The Birthday Suicide is a concept being fulfilled by Gregg Padula. The themes and song ideas on the upcoming record were spawned from tragic transitions and comedies of error...from dark backyard talks with his dear friend Kristopher Kolodjay on the Northern California farm where Gregg was "living" over the months of July through August...long months...hour after hour, smoke after smoke, page after page after page. Disallusioned and forlorn, Gregg moved back to Massachusetts and began writing the songs for his first full-length LP under the nom de plume "The Birthday Suicide"...a name that holds much significance and symbolism to Gregg and his close friends. On this page are five out of nine songs that were written and recorded in the place where Gregg truly draws his inspiration from...New England. The story-themed record aptly titled "One Year Wasted" is now available on this page. I will be announcing upcoming shows and posting new tracks very soon...so keep it tuned in.
Influences: Bob Dylan, Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith, Ani Difranco, Desaparecidos, The Microphones, Dashboard Confessional, Cursive, Arcade Fire, Neil Young, Death Cab For Cutie, Billy Bragg, Leonard Cohen, Daniel Johnston, Ween, John Prine, Wilco, and way too many others.
