Hi! Name is Scooby! I was born January 26th, 2001. I am a 7 year-old white-faced cockatiel! My buddies are Dexter (she's a 26 year-old cinnamon cockatiel, born November 17th 1981) and Birdie (a 4 year old pied cockatiel, born December 15th, 2003). It is just us 3 in our flock, well and mommie as well!Dexter and I came from a Cockatiel rescue up in Northern California. I am from Oakland, and Dexter is from Sacramento. Mom adopted me and my brother Tweety in January of 2003. Tweety unfortunately died in June of 2003 due to an unknown air-borne allergy). Mommy and I were really sad, but at least Tweety is happy up at the Rainbow bridge now.That following November on Veteran's Day weekend, mom and I traveled up to Sacramento to adopt Dexter. I just love car rides! I've made the big 8 hour trip to Northern California/back 3 times myself. Dexter is a girl by the way. Her cagemate of 22 years(Lucy) died around the same time Tweety did. She's a cutie!
The next month mom brought home Birdie. Mom volunteered at an Animal Shelter at the time. Birdie came in this really tiny cage. Mom was just going to foster her at first, which she did. Birdie's dad was in Iraq, and did not have a very good mom. Her mom tried to murder someone (for real), and with all of legal chaos that went with that, the pets had to go. Birdie lived with a Jack Russell terrier and a lab. The two dogs were eventually adopted out and mom and dad decided to keep Birdie. After some much needed weight and medical care (and her joining us in the big cage) Birdie is a happy member of the flock! She likes roosting in the wheat grass a lot!
The 3 of us are a crazy bunch. Dexter is the old-wise one, Birdie is the ditsy blonde and I am here trying to explain to people that the whole world is here for my pleasure and use. Everyone loves a Scooby!
