About Me

I began free improvisation with musical instruments many years ago, and sort of worked outwards from there. I like pushing things to the point where they lose their balance. The act of re-balancing is a source of endless amusement and inspiration. The standard Geehard trailer is viewable at www.eventmap.co.uk/geehard, but I do like what myspace has done to it.

Television:

Mostly films I missed at the cinema or art hut, and I simply adore absurd documentaries that don't patronise or pad out 5 minutes worth of mildly interesting content to one whole hour, Jonathan Meades - for instance.

Books:

Malloy Trilogy, 100 years of solitude, the pocket guide to the koran, rough guide to France, my notebook, Ulysses, The Odyssey, Improvisation by Keith Johnstone, Improvisation by Derek Bailey, The Lucifer Principle, Book of Revelations, Sensitive Chaos, Jacobson's Organ, Against Method, Monadology, Godel Esher Bach, The Idiot, The Nose, The Heart of a Dog, Heart of Darkness, Don Quixote, The Old Man and the Sea, Crow by Ted Hughes,In principle all books, because they can always be used for something else should their bulk outweigh their literary merit. Even very thin ones could catch fire...
