Menorah Lighting at Home with the Rebbe

The Oholim of Lubavitch

A clip of a weekend spent in the town Lubavitch by the students of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch, Rostov, Russia.The town of Lubavitch a Russian town where the movement was born in the late 1700s. The word "Lubavitch" is the name of the town in White Russia where the movement was based for more than a century.To avoid the perils of World War I, the Rebbe Rashab, the fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe left Lubavitch on 17 Cheshvan 5756 (1915) and settled in the city of Rostov, on the river Don. He passed away on 2 Nisan 5680 (1920), and was interred there.The students started their trip from Rostov-on-Don early Thursday morning and arrived the following morning - Friday. They spent Shabbos there camping out in tents in the "Chotzer", returning to Rostov a couple of hours after an inspiring Shabbos.This particular clip is of the visit to the Oholim: The resting places of the third Lubavitcher Rebbe the Tzemach Tzedek, Rabbi Menachem Mendel, the fourth Lubavitcher the Rebbe Maharash, Rabbi Shmuel and the Rabboniyos.Trucking through "di bloter' - the mud roads of Lubavitch spending some precious moments at the holy resting places of the Rebbe'im and eventually concluding at "770" - (a nickname given by Chassidim) - a house purchased by the Rebbe.This video was filmed by Mendy Gurevitch and Lippy Binyominson and edited by Levi Raskin
