RAY LIGON - BIORay Ligon was born and raised in South Florida. His Dad bought him his first guitar at 13 and he started teaching himself to play. He's also learned from many other musicians over the years. His influences are varied and it comes through in the music he writes and performs. From John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High" to James Taylor's "Steam Roller Blues" and George Strait's "Strait Up Country", all and more are part of what helped shape Ray's musical style. It took several years for Ray to blend all his experiences and different influences, but it was country music that finally felt like home. Now at home with his own unique sound and soaring voice, Ray has become a talent unmatched. He has opened for Loretta Lynn & John Berry and has also competed in several “Colgate Country Showdowns†in four states doing well. In 2004 Ray made it to the CCS Missouri state finals held in St. Joseph where the show opened for Tracy Lawrence performing in front of approximately 20,000 to 25,000 folks. Ray went on to compete in the
CCS Kentucky State finals four years in a row. (2004-2007).Ray is well known for TV appearances on Paducah’s "Telethon of Stars". (2004, 2005 & 2006.)
