Brooklyn bred MC Loone Don, known to family members as to Darnell H., did not start as a street hustler but became a product of his environment. At a young age his mother walked out on him yet took his younger brother with her. After three years with his father in Florida he was sent back to New York. With nowhere to go Loone Don was adopted by his grandmother, Ms. Barrow, who was then raised by her and the Douglin family. Loone Don was doing a lot of hustling and running around the streets in various neighborhoods, such as the 90’s, Brownsville, Flatbush and East Flatbush which led him to the hip-hop culture he would soon embrace. He was just a neighborhood MC who was said to do it for fun and as a form of venting. His ability to ride any beat and freestyle for hours led him to studios to become better at his craft. Loone Don’s first official single, “Yo Shortaayâ€, done by Lion Fox Entertainment, Shake Dua, became top 20 on http://www.mp3.com/ back in 2003. He has done performances at the Williamsburg Public House, BRIC Studios, Jordan’s Bar & Grill (Jersey City, NJ), Saffire Lounge, Remote Lounge and also, on his show Get Ryte TV, which is aired on BCAT and produced and edited by Loone Don himself. Through word of mouth and neighborhood battles his name became more known to others as an MC to be reckoned with. His ability to chant only adds to this artist’s versatility that comes natural due to his West Indian background. CEO and Founder of Folk.
