..Poetry is an art form taken on by many passionate pursuers, but none as passionate and truthful as the rare gifts Fallon L. Taylor-Gray (DaT mCeEpoEt) expresses through her SpokenWord. Introduced to the world August 15, 1983 in the state of Indiana, she was relocated to New York City only days later. Drive, environment, and inspiration all embody her first published debut, "My Side". These aspects are not only manifested in her first published works, but shine through guiding her as a poet and a SpokenWord performing artist.
Living in New York City for eighteen years, Fallon was exposed to different forms of artistry. As a student at The Performing Arts JHS 113 (Ronald Edmonds Learning Center) she mastered all areas of stage presence in the drama/theatre division. At the age of sixteen, she transferred her on stage experience straight to the runway as a Barbizon Model. Working her way through Paul Robeson High School of Business and Technology, as a business major, she experienced musical arts as an intern at Motown Records..
Exposure through different environments found within the layers of New York, performing arts/business academies, modeling, and being an intern with a legendary recording label gave Fallon the inspiration needed to speak to the world of arts..
Inspiration is a guiding force for both the old and young alike, and can come from numerous points in life. Fallon’s firm belief that any and every situation good or bad can inspire has formed such controversial pieces as "A Saved Non-Believer" and "What’s in a name". Seeking to reaffirm her desire, Fallon is finely lacing a soundtrack to her side by playing her bass, which she is soon will incorporate with her Spokenword. Past experiences, music, emotion, and the world is her muse, giving her ink to forever mark the timelines with her side..
"My Side" is the title for her literary debut set to release December 2003. Fallon’s instinctive drive and open minded outlook are the fuel that impassions this published treasure. Live performances throughout the Midwest region convey to thousands of listeners, with impact, the meaning behind the name. Fallon has debuted live at the 2004 Indiana Black Expo, opened for Petey Pablo at the Murat, and numerously called upon by Indianapolis premier tea café Teas Me. Bruce George of Def Poetry Jam praised her _expression as adjectively vivid, making Fallon a featured artist for the website, and later enhancing her publicity by featuring her permanently in the Classifieds. The art form of her Spoken word calls all diversities found within American communities to mass unity. Fallon’s strive to be the artist that sets the pace for individuality, self-love, and true freedom of mind, body, and soul encompass her as that artist and uniquely sets her apart..
Currently Fallon can be found in the venues of New York echoing My Side to her fans and influences, yielding her charismatic efforts to the Spokenword community. Her demeanor and message now commit harmony as much as each loc on her head that has been manicured through time by her pen..
Connection, commitment, and courageousness are the dynamics found within her early environment, past and current inspiration, and her drive as a poet and a radical SpokenWord artist. These are the forces that Fallon vows to bring to each ear. As poetry becomes more and more influential, "My Side", as told by Fallon L. Taylor-Gray will be there setting the pace through her world of expression..
QUOTE:"Fallon is one of the few MC’s that can tight rope between SpokenWord and Rap (SpokenRap). She’s lyrically precocious.-Bruce George Co-Founder of Def Poetry Jam

Influences: My influences are my Daughter (ii luvvv u soo much), my mother, tupac, Jay-z, my Godmother, Lil Wayne, m0s def, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson,T I, Lauren Hill, Meshell Ndegeocello, Lil Bo0sie, Webbie, my friendz (they know who they are).......Its wierd because I do "SpokenWord" (SpokenRap) so, most people would think that my influences would be more like Maya Angelou. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve read her stuff and love it. I respect her for the person she is and the impact that she’s had in this business, but the names listed above have had more than just an artistic impact in my life, but a personal one as well.

Hip Hop is my generation, that’s what I grew up on & that’s what I love. Gospel music is also my foundation even though I don’t practice religion anymore. The music does something for me ((so soulful)), there’s passion & that’s what I display when I’m performing. I got to make them feel what I’m feeling or I feel like I didn’t get my point across.

As far as performance in a show, Michael & Janet hands down puts on the best show. I grew up on that, learning all the dances & really stage presence & hadn’t realized it until I began performing the "SpokenWord". All my influences I love to death because they help mold me into the person/artist I am today. La$t but fa dayum sh0 n0t lea$t...!m a pr0duct 0f my environment az well az my experiences...n0w dey can’t d0 n0thing ab0ut me!!!!
