Out Now. My new EP on D1 with remixes by Lerosa and Whirling hall of Knives. Available on 12 lucious inches and Digital download. Techno at 130-140 bpm more details at the D1 Website. Heres the Beatport review...Some fine flat-pack electronics (he must get that sort of thing a lot) from Ikeaboy, who on 'Fazzip' combines a considerable bass presence with a jolting piece of beat design, peppered with sound effects that sound partly dub-influenced, partly arcade game-influenced. 'There There' isn't nearly as comforting as its title would suggest, unleashing scrunched up ambient loops alongside towering 4/4 bass sequences. In addition to a Whirling Hall Of Knives remix (good name), there's a Lerosa revision of 'Fazzip' that's all Rephlex-style acid, spongy bass tones and a pseudo Spaceape vocal.
Here's the artwork for Metanoia 2 by the stoopidly talented Ciaran Brennan. Click here to see more of the mans work, well worth a look. This'll be another full sleeve artwork for the vinyl. The tracks are 99% finished, I'll stick one or two in the player soon. Track are 1. We build Acid (140 bpm broken techno dubbass eh, acid builder) 2. Woov (143 Bpm Is it or isn't dubstep? track). 3. Work it (155 bpm. Demo in player with officalised vocals from the lady from 2livecrew) 4. TBC. The CD will have another sofa orientated track like Flashdead form Metanoia 1 called fragments.
Review of Metanoia Vol. 1 "DJ MAG - JUNE 2007 Following Decal's EP earlier this year on Invisible Agent, Ikeaboy drops an EP that covers underground electro's many sounds. Apart from the ambient intro 'flashdead', there's the tight, bleepy breaks of 'Palletscrap' and the Detroit chords of 'Bypass Naas Bass'. Ikeaboy also has a fondness for craniun-splitting basslines and the malevolent, lunging bass of 'Yellow Metal', as well as Warren Daly's ominous version of the same track, is the stuff that the worst nightmares are made of. : 4/5 Stars" That'll do nicely thanks very much
Sleeper Cell E.P.
Available now as a digital release via the D1 online shop (click on Logo). Although this was written and recorded five years ago, only now has it emerged from the D1 vaults (which resemble the warehouse they put the Ark of the Covenant in at the end of Raiders of the lost Ark, you don't get many arks knocking about these days). Anyway its detroit techno and electro with guest appearance by mote. I still love it and you should too!
