Kevin Blake has been making his own music since a very young age while messing around with various 4 track recorders and computer programs.At the age of 15 he along with three friends formed the band Kaderfire. They toured around Ireland for three years playing their own brand of post-rock and recorded two EPs to great appreciation.
For the past year, Kevin has focused on producing electronic music, attracted by its limitless sonic possibilities and control over all aspects.Groundbreaking artists such as Richard D. James and Kraftwerk inspired him to mold his own take on this music, approaching it from a rock and classical perspective.Live shows can include Kevin using his laptop, synth, guitar, bass, drums/percussion, xylophone, and various pedals and effects. To date he has played and toured with such acts as Bonobo, Mu-ziq, Marco Bernardi/Octogen, Le Bien, Giveamanakick, 65 Days Of Static, Max Tundra, Ten Past Seven and Donal Dineen.Kevin has also worked with the Cork Pops Orchestra and with them he has done three concerts to date showcasing an original composition of his.
Kevin also runs the Electric Underground club night in Cork which provides a platform for Irish live electronic acts and innovative djs, as well as guest artists from abroad. Recent guests have included artists from the most prestigous electronica labels such as Warp, Planet Mu and Ninjatune.Now 22, Kevin plans finish his music degree in Cork, and release his debut EP and tour as much as possible. He is also playing in a new boundary pushing experimental electronic rock band called 'Private Underground Residence'.
