SixMileWater are a four piece hailing from various areas of Cork, Ireland. Including Carraig na bhFearr, Dromahane and Blackrock. Originally a three piece consisting of Eamon McSweeney on drums, Joe McSweeney on Bass and Colm O'Mahony on Guitar.They had a variety of different singers, but very little by way of original lyrics, seemingly difficult to source in Cork at the time. Good tunes and decent singers but no words. Things came together properly in early 2007, when Joe sent Patrik Hammond a couple of songs, almost instantly Patrik came back with some lyrics and Joe asked Patrik if he'd like to join. When all four of the group got together to jam there was immediate chemistry! This may have been a placebo however...Either way, the line-up was settled.The band played a number of gigs around Cork throughout 07 and 08, impressing people with their well-constructed songs and interesting on-stage antics. However, reality interjected for awhile and they sadly were forced to go on hiatus for a number of months.In late 2008, they returned to full activity playing a few gigs, before settling down over christmas to try and get some recording done. They plan to return to playing live during 2009, while finishing recording.
