About Me

Groundburst began as a whisper back in late 2003 after the disbanding of electronic-rock band Undermine led to brothers Si and Phil Dunne starting to collaborate together musically. Calling themselves Mosso, they started playing funk, reggae, rock, jazz, tango, metal and anything they could mash together with John Hamill on drums and various singers and instrumentalists. After problems with this format, they decided to go it alone instrumentally as Groundburst in 2006. This has enabled them to go crazy with weird time-signatures, complex song structures and extensive use of loops and effects like kids in a candy shop. The music this time retains elements of rock and jazz with a nod to minimalism and soundtrack music. They are set to explode onto the Dublin live scene this spring with new drummer Cathal. Be warned.
