Emily Reece

Confronting reality since 1975

About Me

As the last offspring of an ethics professor and an accomplished classical singer, it was guaranteed that Emily would not fit in with the tastes or mores of her peers. Raised on popular artists of times gone by, she was drawn to all things “Great Depression” and dreamed of being a torch song singer or a card shark. Her siblings introduced her to a new fangled music called rock and roll and Emily discovered the 1970’s. Wanting to sound like that, she took up smoking. The next decade was filled with botched attempts to learn the guitar and typical 20-something angst. Emily did, however, discover country and/or western music.Eventually Emily realized the key to everything was hard work and she’s been working at it ever since. When not living the life of a "superstar," Emily works in administration at a local non-profit and dreams of one day opening her own school where people learn for the sake of learning.
