Song One
The Best Show On Television
Lyrics
The first song of the X-Play Musical. X-Play fan, Billy (played by Jonathan Mann) sings praise about X-Play to Sat'an, who becomes intrigued and hatches a scheme to make money off of X-Play fans by making an X-Play game. Song Two
The Devil Went Down To X-Play
Lyrics
The second song of the X-Play Musical. Adam and Morgan finish a show and are approached by Sat'an with his proposal to make an X-Play video game. Through promises of panda bears and the distraction of sexy devil dancers, Adam and Morgan enthusiastically agree. Song Three
A Game Is Born
Lyrics
The Third Song of the X-Play Musical. Sat'an opens the doors to the "factory" in which Adam and Morgan abuse the workers and lay out their demands for the X-Play game. The workers somehow manage to make a game by passing around steel pipes and bang them against the floor. Song Four
Gamer's Lament
Lyrics
Adam and Morgan have been negatively affected by the power of making their game and become very snobby and eccentric (especially Adam). When they are shown their game, they discover that it is a Rubber Johnny-esque creature that only works on the Dreamcast. As the creature/X-Play Game gains sentience and demands love from Adam and Morgan, they despair over their foolishness in making it. Song Five
One Out Of Five
Lyrics
Billy seems to be dying from Cancer and his condition becomes critical when he plays the X-Play game. Sat'an reveals that he made millions off the failure and Adam and Morgan lament over their mistakes. The doctor comforts them and they proceed to score various aspects of the musical on a 1-5 scale, culminating with the X-Play Game getting a one out of five. Song Six
Love Me (Reprise)
Lyrics
The X-Play Game/creature forlornly pleas for attention and love. In the episode, the ending is cut off by someone breaking his television screen with an ax. Song Seven
On The X-Play Boards
Lyrics
The first song that X-Play made for the X-Play Musical, but at the time, probably seen as a joke by the crew that would never come to fruition. The cast of peripheral X-Play characters mocks the feedback that X-Play receives on the X-Play Forums. Song Eight
X-Play Funk
(No Lyrics, per se)
A song that was made by an X-Play fan, dkamp, remixing X-Play quotes into a psychedelic series of beats. Puts a lot of emphasis on dancing wookiees. Song Nine
Poppycock!
(No Lyrics, per se)
Another song made by dkamp, which uses various Morgan Webb quotes, set to more trippy music. Named for Morgan's enthusiastic use of the word "Poppycock" during one episode. Ends with a bizarre break which sounds like a high-pitched Native American ritual, I can't say for sure.Song Ten
Words Just Say Too Much
Lyrics
It is unclear the story of this song, but it came in at the end of the Breakfast Club parody episode. This song doesn't seem to have been existing before the episode, so it's assumed the song was made specifically for the show. If anyone knows the story behind this song, please contact us so we can set things straight. "On the X-Play Boards" was a smash hit among fans by overexagerrating the fanbase on the forums for X-Play and because it was catchy as all hell. Unfortunately, another song was never truly made. (I don't count those two beer commercial rip-offs)This profile is dedicated to collecting music from fans and such that is X-Play related and throwing it on this profile. Songs that aren't in the player will be posted below for download."On the X-Play Boards" was officially made by "Marque Phahee & The Bling Dongs featuring the X-Play After School Choir" and is property of G4 Media. The song is public domain and is offered up for download on the website. The actual credit for the X-Play Musical idea goes to Segment Producer of X-Play, Mark Fahey. He is also said to be working on further installations.X-Play The Musical episode On February 5th, 2007, X-Play made 3rd tier digital video-game television history by showing a musical episode of X-Play. The show was a years in the making process, according to Morgan on AOTS, having been brought up in a brainstorming session, but quickly shot down. However, in December of 2006, Paul Bonanno made sure the episode came to fruition. With the help of Michael Leffler and Mark Milla, they produced the episode in 2 months. All the singing is done by the people who are singing, there aren't any voice-overs, and most fans seemed shocked that the episode wasn't a complete joke, but a decent performance with catchy songs and good production values (mostly). The Musical has thus far received mixed reviews, but mostly positive.Everything else is purely fanmade and is offered by the artists freely.Accredited Artists:
Mark Fahey (On the X-Play Boards)
dkamp (Poppycock! and X-Play Funkfest)
Paul Bonanno, Michael Leffler and Mark Milla for the entire shebang
Jonathan Mann AKA The GameJew for writing the songs of X-Play the Musical and Brian Golub for producing the episode. This Profile was made by a fan, Nicholas David Schultz
