HYBRIDA

HYBRIDA project was born in 2005 from the meeting of Carmine di Leo (composer, voice, guitar and synth) and Massimo Sammartino (at drums). At the beginning the idea was to create a trio that gave new life to songs in the original language but an encounter with Davide Barela (at bass) and Francesco Greco (at synth) opens the way for a quartet that is beginning to develop sound that feed on rock and ambient music. After an intense live activity and participation in music festivals such as San Marino’s Festival 2005, I-TIM TOUR 2005 and Rockaria 2006, the 2007 starts with the abandonment of the band from Barela and Greco and the new entrance of Paolo De Santis (at bass) which contains the group to the original trio. Hybrida sound is hard and sharp as the notes of Soundgarden and Muse…Melodic as a song of Coldplay…Electronic, halfway between the ambient of Porcupine Tree and the new wave of Depeche Mode and Bluvertigo…Openings voice paused as soap bubbles that out in violent splits…as Jeff Buckley teaches… Hybrida sing of human behaviour, unstable equilibrium, fragile relationships… a world of jellyfish and bruises, shame and geishe…
