I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4Hello & thanks for your interest in knowing more about Pandaimonium...and what you find here is far more "private" that what you'll find on the official Pandaimonium page. The label was started out of the ashes from Tess Records Europe in the late summer of 1998. I can hardly recall who was more fed up with Tess Records US, was it Ronny of Clan Of Xymox, or was it me - Steph - ex-managing director of Tess Europe. I surely recall that the relationship between the american division and myself went more and more into bad terms...or more likely...into terms where we focussed different perspectives. The americans aimed to sign more and more bands while I thought it's better to build up the bands we had. And we had some very good bands...but I was told that those bands weren't really happy and satisfied with the US division. Anyway, no need to go into details but there was Ronny who told me he wants to release his next album "Creatures" (we did "Hidden Faces" on Tess worldwide) with me but not with Tess...and there was Guillaume, by this time and still involved in Paris' club La Locomotive, who handled me the debut CD of Morthem Vlade Art. In an instant it all came clear. I wanted to have "Creatures" and I wanted to have Morthem Vlade Art. Both would have been impossible if I would have stayed with Tess Records. So I left - with kinda a bang. A good bang :) But then the problems came...start a new label - no big deal...but find a name and logo that won't be regretted after a few months...a dictionairy helped and telling you how the logo was created is only entertaining for people who use Photoshop to earn their daily bread. I was darn happy to be able to have kept Clan Of Xymox, but before "Creatures" was released (and "Hidden Faces" re-released") Pandaimonium took some risks by presenting a few debuts to the market - Morthem Vlade Art, Other Day & The New Creatures. But the risks were worth is - Morthem became album of the month, Other Day and The New Creatures were highly featured in the media. In between far more years have passed than it feels like...Pandaimonium will soon release its 60th album...more Clan Of Xymox albums than any other label, and yet it feels like the first day. No band has left Pandaimonium yet - a few got dropped, sorry - and I am glad that I run the label with the same enthusiasm as all those years ago I started it. I never saw Pandaimonium as my job, or my hobby - it's my life. Once I was asked in an interview what my ideal vision is: "waking up from a dream and realize I wasn't dreaming" And Pandaimonium's not just a dream - it's what I am living for.
