I'm still an eighties music lover. B52's, U2, The GoGo Girls, Ah Hah, Fine Young Cannibals, Madonna, Billy Idol... just to name a few. I also listen to powwow music from Pipestone, Smokeytown, Whitefishbay Jr's, Blacklodge, Bluelake (my cousins)

I don't have time to watch television.
I read too many books.
My mother is my hero. She attended Indian Residential School in northern Ontario,at that time other Aboriginal children were forcibly removed from there homes. The Canadian government and churches wanted Aboriginal children assimilated into the Euro-canadian society. She wasn't allowed to speak her language or practice traditional ceremonies. After residential school,I think it made her more active in her own culture. She didn't want to assimilate, she became involved in educating non-natives about what the goverment and churches have done to her and the family. She taught Ojibway language in Detroit, Michigan.....painted pictures of Native people. She a retired Registrated Nurse. She earned a Bachelors in Business Adminstration and a Masters. Including myself....
